Re: Planning Application - Gas Holder site

@The Clown, we were told in relation to the Penge Blenheim Centre redevelopment plan that you don't even need to be living in the local area to object - isn't that the same for Lewisham? (And hey, you could pretty much just change a few words of your post and submit it for the Penge application as w...

Re: Planning Application - Gas Holder site

Ah, sorry, I misread that. 8 disabled parking bays is what's proposed for the Penge development, too. Having car-free developments is all very well in theory, but doesn't tend to work so well in practice. Apart from anything else, you'll probably find the "disabled" bays occupied by cars w...

Re: Major nighttime rail engineering works

Blimey, what sounds like very noisy rail engineering works tonight! We haven't been leafleted, but I did notice that late-night trains through Penge East were being replaced by buses, so I guess it's on the Victoria-Orpington line.

Re: Planning Application - Gas Holder site

Car parking? How dare they?! Looks pretty similar - although not as large - to the one they're trying to get through in the centre of Penge at the moment (but with more parking) :( Probably more suitable for Bell Green, too? I thought the ground had been designated too polluted to build homes on?

Re: Planning application for 18-storey tower block (and more) in central Penge

Petitions will have no effect on Bromley Council: only objections based on valid planning grounds will. So if you want to get this prevented you need to write to the Council. There is a very useful leaflet doing the rounds which may be of help. I wonder if people will be out by the Blenheim Centre d...

Planning application for 18-storey tower block (and more) in central Penge

Well, we've known it's been on the cards for a while, but a planning application has now been lodged with Bromley Council to demolish Penge's Blenheim shopping centre and car park and replace it with 4 blocks, of 3, 6, 9 and 18 storeys, respectively. This involves the loss of 150+ car parking spaces...

Re: Sydenham DO strike breaking

Think we've had maybe one postal delivery in the last couple of weeks. I had to ring my credit card provider to let them know my statement still hadn't arrived :(

Is there a particular problem with the Sydenham/Forest Hill side (again)? Maybe I should get my post rerouted to friends in Penge.

Re: Barratt Homes zoom tomorrow Sat 12th at 11am

Did anyone attend? I don't understand this: large parts of the surrounding area, I understood, weren't allowed to have housing built on them because of contamination, yet it's okay to build on this part of the land? No remediation? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. And 14 storeys? In an area where ...

Good luck with that. I started complaining to Southeastern about the loss of half the Bromley South to Victoria slow service nearly 18 months ago. There's still no sign of it returning.

And I believe we have 19 more strikes scheduled before Christmas? Unbelievable.

I don't know whether someone was reading my earlier post, but we got 2 deliveries on Wednesday! Nothing since then.

Are you sure the posties you've seen haven't just been delivering parcels, rather than post?

Re: Southeastern trains to Lewisham, Cannon St ending

Greenwich line goes through Deptford, doesn't it? I have a friend there who's been having to change at London Bridge for all her trains for years now. So I'm surprised there's anything new there.
