When i moved to Sydenham 5 years ago, i used to still work in Hammersmith, which was convenient from my previous station Gypsy Hill as i could change at Clapham Junction and get the Olympia line through to Willesden Junction. However from Sydenham in the morning no through trains existed before 9am....

I also wish to congratulate all of those who organised and participated in the festival. It was a real bonus for the borough and the local area. I visited a number of the open art studios over both weekends, all very inspiring, especially in the knowledge they are all local people. I already know ot...

There is a really good printing shop down Willow Way just around the corner. Personally, what the area needs are shops which are abit different, stocking useful things. I'm more tempted to go into a shop selling home wares such as kitchen utensils, home wares etc, rather than one which just sells gi...

One of the things missing from the area is a good little fringe theatre, similar to the Brockley Jack. nothing grand, just a room with some theatre or comedy productions...the woodman is a really nice old building, prominent site, and this would really set off the area...and tied in with the Sydenha...

Not that i am one to give too much support to the railway companies, but i needed to check train times online on thursday for travelling on Saturday, and when the results came up, it did say that this local part of the route had a bus replacement service. I also saw it at the station i think again o...

I prefer the Forest Hill Sainsburys more than the Sainsburys version. It is smaller, has pretty much one needs on a weekly shop (ok, dont have kids but not everyone has), and the staff are ok. Sometimes its abit busy in the evenings or lunchtime, but thats one of those things. The other one i prefer...

Personally i am looking forward to a Tesco coming to this site. I shop at Rams and think its a great convenience store, but it is'nt open in the evening, doesnt do much fresh veg and fruit, and the milk is often sour after a day or so. Yes the deliveries will be a problem, but lets face it, Kirkdale...

Does anyone know much about the department store which once stood at Cobbs Corner, named i assume Cobbs Department Store? When was it open, and did it once occupy the whole of the corner plot, or was once part of it a cinema or club?
