I have just joined a choir in bromley called Bromley Philamonic Choir, and they practise over in Bromley Common, which may be a trek if you dont have a car, but its good fun...we are doing Liszt and Rutter for a concert in October

i was under the impression this stretch of buildings was now Listed? or am i wrong?

I live in Sydenham, and have just brought a second hand armchair which i wish to get reupholstered. Does any one know of someone in the area who can do this sort of thing? I would supply the fabric.

When i moved to Sydenham 5 years ago, i used to still work in Hammersmith, which was convenient from my previous station Gypsy Hill as i could change at Clapham Junction and get the Olympia line through to Willesden Junction. However from Sydenham in the morning no through trains existed before 9am....

There is a really good printing shop down Willow Way just around the corner. Personally, what the area needs are shops which are abit different, stocking useful things. One of the things missing from the area is a good little fringe theatre, similar to the Brockley Jack. nothing grand, just a room with some theatre or comedy productions...the woodman is a really nice old building, prominent site, and this would really set off the area...and tied in with the Sydenha...

Does anyone know of any local badminton clubs? I have'nt played in about 15years so very rusty but wish to take it up again. I'm based in Upper Sydenham and hampered only by my lack of practice and public transport!

I prefer the Forest Hill Sainsburys more than the Sainsburys version. It is smaller, has pretty much one needs on a weekly shop (ok, dont have kids but not everyone has), and the staff are ok. Does anyone know much about the department store which once stood at Cobbs Corner, named i assume Cobbs Department Store? When was it open, and did it once occupy the whole of the corner plot, or was once part of it a cinema or club?

I once read somewhere, not sure where though, that the shape of the lakes in Sydenham Wells Park were laid out in a similar layout as the Rhine River, due to the amount of Germans living in the area at the time?
