Oh! Sorry lol.biscuitman1978 wrote: They are indeed marketing the unit through two agents. My point was that mosy had suggested there are no 'to let' signs, but there are two!

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
As there are no "To let" boards outside the vacant outlets, I assume something is holding up the letting of them. I have a vague recollection that there were some council provisions whereby the Greyhound had to be finished first but now it is, so must be something else... I'm a bit puzzle...

Re: Mail deliveries
Hi I'm not new to the Forum, was registered previously as Peak Hillbilly but couldn't log-in as the email address has elapsed, so now posting as Peak-Hillbilly. I just wondered if anybody else has noticed problems with their mail deliveries? I live near Sydenham station and have had a parcel (birth...

Re: Virgin Media broadband super slow in the evenings
The reason we ended up with VM is because we could no longer get Sky in the summer months due to our neighbour's tree blocking the signal. I have heard that Sky Braodband can be pretty pants too, especially in the evenings. We have to keep our BT line as our house alarm is connected to it, so whate...

Re: Virgin Media broadband super slow in the evenings
Thanks, Parker1970. You've confirmed my suspicions that I'm never going to get decent peak-time speed from VM. I had solid 76Mbps all day with BT Infinity and miss it, despite their Kafkaesque customer service. I hear Zen are good, although I assume they use BT infrastructure. I'm eventually going ...

Re: Virgin Media broadband super slow in the evenings
We have an ongoing problem with our Virgin broadband which drops in speed to unusably low levels about 8pm every evening and all day on the weekends. It's sometimes as low as 2Mbps. We are heavy users - four TV streamers, and an online gamer - and we can't do any of it at the moment. Speeds during ...

Re: Starting-up a Barbers business in Sydenham
Whereabouts in Hackney is your shop? I ask because Sydenham has excellent direct connections with Dalston via the Overground - about 30 mins. I find it faster to go there for the library than any other library apart from Forest Hill. You may find it easier to continue operating your business there ...

that's a good site thanks for the link. Pro-tip, if you forget the site url you can just google the phone number, if it is listed on any of the "Who called me" type sites, google will list it as a result. Also for those not aware, TPS (Telephone Preference Service) where you can register ...

i think the most interesting point to come from this is that we all have our own tastes on takeaways , so suppose for future reference the conclusion is , you'll just have to try a few till you find the right one for you That is very true. I decided to risk a different Chinese last night, as I don'...

Didn't see this post before I posted a new topic. TFL is taking it over in 2018/9.

Same here, PropertyWorld are great. Family owned business and much better service than the chains like Acorn etc. I've been a tenant with them for a couple of years now.Bunty wrote:Always used property world, family run, great service

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
Activity this morning in the rear unit. Couple of guys measuring up inside and another outside saying it's going to be Sainsbury's - opening in about 7 weeks! Awaiting confirmation as to who will take the front unit. I saw them there this morning but was too shy to ask and didn't want to be nosey, ...

Re: Chinese takeaway
Can't agree on Golden City. Have eaten there twice (always give a second chance). Both times the food was pretty terrible. The second time they went one further and ran out of beer to wash it down with. I've honestly had better microwave meal Chinese I usually go there every fortnight, not had a ba...

Re: Chinese takeaway
I always use Golden City on Sydenham Road. The food has always been good and the staff are very friendly ( they recognize their regulars :P ) They are slightly more expensive than some, but I don't mind shelling out an extra £1 or 2 for a good Chinese meal. (I recommend their Grilled Meat Dumplings ...

I'd also just chime and say that it is also VERY worthwhile to tell your next of kin what you have agreed to donate on that site so that they don't go against your wishes. My family are more than aware that the NHS can take anything they like except my eyes (weird I know, but that's a long story) an...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
The outside is done (perhaps a bit of touching up to do and a strange covered up gap in the pavement to the rear)... The 'strange covered up gap' is for a set of steps to the basement. Seems very narrow, I originally thought it was the drop into the cellar for beer deliveries, but it's not wide eno...

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
It's all been rather quiet on the forum for the Greyhound topic so far in 2016... Has anyone received any interesting bits of news on either completion date, or a potential occupier? I passed by earlier in the week, and it's still looking a WHOLE lot better than even a few months ago, but it appear...

This is my first post on the forum. Just joined. After frustrating emails to Police, I decided to do a net search on noise in Lower Sydenham, There it was. When I first moved here I looked at reviews of LA Fitness and I found it hard to find anything favourable, including the state of the pool and changing rooms, so I didn't join, perhaps the reviews I read where not the full story but it was clear LA Fitness were having issues when night after night t...
