You should be able to report these incidents by phone. Otherwise its Sydenham Police Station in Dartmouth Road (opp the Bricklayers and Sydenham School). Office hours only I think. Or Catford Police Station (all hours I think) which is in Bellingham. North of of the Southend Lane/Whitehorse Lane jun...

I do a website for http://www.karters.co.uk.
They are at the "bespoke architectural" end of the business. Ideal if you are going for the authentic look. May be not ideal if you are going for value for money ... unless you are into Morris Vans.

Good to know these people are having a go at the Bridge. I thought it doomed. Wish we hadn't lost the Gypsy Hill Paxton name for some anonymous 'Mansion'. Anyway here is Audrey Hammond's painting of it c2004:

Thanks Thomas that was most interesting. I would be careful of not reading too much into some variations. Overall Sydenham (and Forest Hill) are around average for Lewisham. Contrast this with Deptford where the results are markedly non-average (unsurprisingly). I would have thought the demographics...

Yes - BeThere was brilliant when it was independent. I, too, was thinking of switching to them (on cost - I use Zen which *is still* technically brilliant).

I wonder if the Telefonica takeover is partially reponsible? Telefonica have an appalling reputation as an ADSL operator.

I'm very sorry to hear you have lost it despite extra security. I remember two or three years back an idea to use an old mobile phone with a payg sim secreted in a car as a cheap stolen vehicle locator (or lost wife locator). This using one of the many SIM locator services. It of course relies on an...

I always thought buying a property and be able to afford to travel by rail were mutually incompatible! Anyway - don't forget Sydenham's other treasure - the 176. This is a 24 hour service into London via East Dulwich, Waterloo, Trafalgar Sq & Oxford Street. All for 80p anytime which saves plenty...

I agree arguments can be described as contemptible or even worse. However, Can we attack those rather than the person making them? Otherwise the discussion can simply degenerates into mutual abuse.

Our postie is wonderful and local - I often pass him around town and he always gives a cheery greeting. A good postie is noticed when he goes on holiday. Then I get next door's post and v.v. Also living in Lawrie Park we occasionally get mail to LP Road/Avenue/Crecent and our mail goes there. But be...

A Google search shows Narborhood to be a family name. I'm guessing one must have passed through Sydenham. But then I would have thought Steve would have spotted it on the electoral rolls ...

I'm a George's man myself. I used to be a Jan's man till she fled the country. Maybe it was my dandruff that did it. Trouble is I get grumpy at £9 for 10 minutes work. But then that's only £54 an hour at full capacity and with rent/overheads I guess its hard to make a decent profit on even that ... ...

The current Sydenham to Victoria service is at best twice an hour and doesn't run all day. Compared to six times an hour service to London Bridge. Arguably it may be better when the East London Line arrives in two years time. ELL trains will loop round to Crystal Palace Station (next stop) where you...

I have to disagree with kennyb2 that this is due to 'not passing the driving test' or due to foreigners. Neither my mother or father had to pass a test but were better drivers than me. The result of making the current test more complicated/demanding has not lowered the accident rate in the 17-21 ban...

No, no! I've nearly been killed twice because of speed humps. The first as a car swerved to avoid one and the second almost through us off our bike (it was wet so the white warning beame opaque/invisible). So if there's no hours it operates 24 hours a day Ok - but who may use it? Cyclists generally can use bus lanes and motor cyclists some bus lanes.
