Re: Old Florist next to Lidl

Thanks Annie I do my best to amuse. Seriously though where have all these nail bars come from. Money cannot be tight in SE26 as they seem to be flourishing and one would think way at the bottom of a ladies priorities , even if on the list at all. Haha, I have never had my nails "done" so ...

Always puzzled with the number of nail shops. Originally I thought DIY Shops but now understand in reality shop for old people who cannot cut their nails. Very sad. Their relations should assist.

Haha,

Re: Old Florist next to Lidl

Just been reading through the posts here. You know what? It smacks a bit of snobbery and narrowmindedness. The vast majority of Sydenham's community don't post here nor represent every culture we do have here on our doorsteps. I am a strong believer that there is enough good fortune out there for e...

Re: WHAT IF 16: EMPTY SHOPS

Thats good Lee, You could have the famous people of Sydenham as the titles, also residents could pay say £5.00 for the pleasure of their names on the binders, money could go to charity,or on something for sydenham? The children of Sydenham getting involved would be good, we have so many schools aroun...

Re: Save the Greyhound Campaign

Apologies... I've had more than a few and edited my post after you replied.... it made sense when I posted it but I'm hammered. The building was doomed from the minute the pub was closed down. It had a preservation order put on it but hey, developers have more cash than councils. Dodgy fire. Unauth...

Annie - you should check your Facebook privacy settings. Liking a 'page' on Facebook shouldn't make all your info available to others who like the page, or the makers of the page. As long as all your settings are 'friends only' (as they should be) you'll be fine. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] htt...

Re: Child friendly pub?

Gosh, I didn’t realise what I was starting when I posted my question, sorry if I offended anybody by putting down the dolphin, I will leave you in peace and be mindful not to take my kids there in future!! So thanks, SE26bloke – I’ll try The Bridge House, and Bazman76 – thanks for the reminder abou...

Re: Save the Greyhound Campaign

I signed the Facebook page, then realised that it gives all my personal information to others that I don't know,so I have withdrawn it. If there is a online petition to sign that will not show me personally then I would gladly sign it. I understand where Eagle is coming from. But good for you Andwar...

Re: Ooh la laa

My head hedge needs trimming at the moment, it's got out of control so I may venture up there. We are working on some Sydenham What If's at the moment, we are about to get busy again soon as we have some more GLA work to do. We did a Hairdressers for Hayes, I may suggest it to them if I pop in. Why...

Where is World of Hair, is it the one next to the 'Discount Bathroom Centre' that isn't discount at all but rather well made, upmarket, bespoke kitchens. Erm, yes I think so,haha, all I know is its along side the petrol garage,it normally has a metal grille type shutter on the front window.looks sc...

Re: Support your local Turkish supermarket!

That is actually wonderful. I wish families were that "social" these days too. Todays demands make it quite difficult to synchronise such meets. Out of all my friends, only myself and one other is a stay at home mum. And she's all the way in Sidcup. I wonder though, would people be intere...

Re: Ooh la laa

World of hair is good, looks terrible outside--could do with one of Lees makeovers! but the people inside are really lovely, and I have happily returned to them for the at least the last 20 yrs, the shop used to be on the other side of the road, but moved over by the filling station a number of years ...

Re: Street Drinker Violence

To be honest I'm more often offended by the language of and intimidated by the faux gangster posterings of bunches of kids walking up the High Street. If we're talking about how certain behaviour can be 'perceived' as threatening, then children spitting, using that silly patois, dressed for b-ball ...

Re: Street Drinker Violence

I used to work 'uptown' for a large global financial institution... on more than one occasion I witnessed supposedly respectable city suits being abusive and threatening staff of a convenience store in the Strand because the booze cabinet wasn't open dead on 8am. (by 'witnessed' I don't mean it was...

Re: Child friendly pub?

I always go in there, normally have the allday breakfast, always been good, their curry night is good as well, but what I do like is the Buzz, there are families on the upper level enjoying a meal and drink and those who want to chill on the lower level,i like the alcove style that a lot of wetherspo...
