Not sure the residents of the flats will be thrilled...Peri Peri smells

Re: Estate Agent's Boards
Robinson Jackson put one up on my fence, they do let a flat in the building but it's a long term let so surely no need for the sign until the lease comes up? It has not been removed even after numerous phone calls... You could take it off and just leave it outside their door, or even better just wa...

Re: Reduction in services from London Bridge
Then it's not alright if you're from Honor Oak....the 7.56 originates at Crystal Palace, and therefore there is bound to be a seat. If you are just talking about Sydenham then I agree it is fine as it stands, but if they cut one or two then it won't.

Re: Reduction in services from London Bridge
There are three direct services from London Bridge to Sydenham between 6 and 7 pm. 18.21, 18.36 and 18.53. This is pretty good, in my opinion - especially considering there are three direct services from London Bridge to Lower Sydenham per hour too. But how about the morning decisions being made? I...

Re: Reduction in services from London Bridge
"Southern are currently consulting on changes to services due to start in two years time. These proposals will involve significant cuts to services from Sydenham to London Bridge during the morning rush hour (from 6 trains per hour to 4 trains per hour). In addition Southern are proposing to st...

Re: Cash Machine Harrassment
Yes, I reported something similar a while back that happened to me at the Lloyd's ATM. It is disconcerting and much ado to reclaim any money lost. As we don't have eyes in the back of our head and cash machines don't have a mirror, I reckon the best thing is to stand firmly to the right so blocking...

Re: New Cafe
As no replies to to my post I decided to give it a try myself today. A great addition to the high street is DILZ. Not suprisingly it is owned and run by a Turkish cypriot family and although not yet on the menu I asked if they could cook me a Menemen which is a Traditional Turkish breakfast or snac...

Re: Southern Timetable Consultation
Hang on, all the statements on here sound a bit like we are resigned to this change and that it can't be challenged? I thought there was a consultation, hence the title of the post. Stuart seems to have a good grasp of it, and forgive me for not, but would it be sensible to stick a white paper of so...

Re: Southern Timetable Consultation
So, basically the significant change here is that if one wants to go to Gatwick it is two changes rather than the one and on top of that seems like there are less trains? I haven't got the energy to read through the document, so I'm guessing that is a fair précis of the proposal? Just want to make s...

Re: The Golden Lion
It was good - I had the seafood platter too actually. One criticism is that the kids menu was spartan and unimaginative. They need to work on that if they are going to get families in, as even though the Dolphin is not wildly friendly to kids, it cleans up as the food is good and simple. The Lion's ...

Sorry Steve I agree , problem is so many people trying to close pubs , which are a valuable resourse for social cohesion . It would be great if retained as a Pub to keep the community together and of course serve decent real ale. They are also a source of social neglect. I'm not quite sure why ther...

Big activity on this site then. Digging in some serious foundations. Good to see it underway finally and that the gap in the front row of the high st teeth will be filled.

Hiya, we have a really superb cleaner called Kali - she lives in Lwr Sydenham and does a fine job at our place.
She also does a fair few others around the area and has several friends who do too.
I would definitely recommend her - 07447 920220

Re: BEER REBELLION
I agree too. Teenage rebellion, trying to establish one's own personal identity by automatically rejecting the values of the older generation, whatever they are, is a very important part of growing up. I'm not sure that having the odd pint at a low-key neighbourhood bar could be regarded as either ...
