Re: Community Centres for Receiving Suspected CV-19 Patients

Reports in an article today which has data from an independent source that is not tainted by some of the more politicised guff we have had presented to us in the Daily No 10 Briefing. Is anyone else tiring of the reports of an exaggerated "error free" performance made by our "working ...

Kindnesses in Our Local Shops

My BH had to make a trip to Sydenham to replenish some medication. Amongst other outlets, she visited Boots and Billings. Queueing was in the main orderly and people were in positive spirits. Two things she observed lifted her more than a little. The Boots staff were clearly working incessantly and ...

Re: An Annual Event that has NOT been cancelled

The Exeter Observatory website is at http://www.exeterobservatory.com/meteorcam/ Not so clear skies here with us or across south of England this evening (Friday). None of the cams have clear skies but once more the ones located in Exeter may prove to be best - but no guarantees I'm afraid. Do have a...

Community Centres for Receiving Suspected CV-19 Patients

Lewisham CCG has announced that two Community Centres to be used specifically to assess patients with suspected Covid-19 have opened in north and south parts of borough. Access can only be gained by making an appointment by contacting your GP or by calling NHS 111. The two Covid-19 community centres...

Re: An Annual Event that has NOT been cancelled

Try the Exeter Observatory website at http://www.exeterobservatory.com/meteorcam/

Select the Exeter NE image - seems to be clear sky at that location at approx 21:15 at least.

Edited to add: Any of the cams located in the west country appear to have clear skies - the time-stamps are UT.

Love the bodhrán Tim. Stuart you are our second friend in the doghouse for the same reason - it must be happening the nation o'er. Funniest and possibly one of the warmest tributes to the NHS and frontline teams is the Tweet about the Woolwich Ferry from a few minutes ago. https://twitter.com/i/stat...

An Annual Event that has NOT been cancelled

Something that all the family can watch out for - the annual Lyrid meteor shower is visible in UK skies tonight. It's a good watch and free of course. Perhaps a little competition too - who can count the most meteors and who can see the longest meteor tail. The Lyrid meteor shower will start tonight...

So what are the issues, if there any substantive ones, with a five-and-a-half-day operation expanding its existing presence on site. https://twitter.com/SGasworks/status/12 ... 83456?s=20 These campaign matters are all grist to the mill of how and by whom a Master Plan is to be led and managed and ...

Re: The Electorate's Ability to Swallow the Biggest of Untruths

In today's News Shopper, finance expert Martin Lewis has advice for self-employed people affected by coronavirus. Particularly for those who may have an abiding sense of being underwhelmed by the failure of HMG to meaningfully deliver what was a substantially generous and essential decision to get a...

Not a fan of the disturbances being caused here. And our local MPS officers frown on civilians unilaterally throwing stingers across the pathway of these offenders (tempting, effective, but......). It is almost universally agreed that speed bumps are inconvenient. But the other hidden factor is thei...

Observant.

Beyond the reflection of views expressed previously by our community on this forum and others, nothing.

I should have had the good sense to realise it would have been more appropriate to post this in The Pub.

Re: CV-19: Do people really think 5G is responsible ?

That's a new one. I note it seemed to start when the gas holders where removed. Haven't seen the link evidence yet - no doubt someone will postulate a theory or hypothesis. Could they possibly have been part of the UK's virus defence grid? Previous views expressed here have had them as a primary lan...

Mayor's Lewisham Foodbank appeal passes £80k

It is great to see the coordinated effort from Lewisham kick-in. By April 9, over 2,000 people had donated £80,560, less than a month after the appeal's launch. “Their generosity means the foodbank can continue to support vulnerable residents in Lewisham at a time when they need it most.” People giv...

Oooops. Is it so safe to think about getting back in the water ? Record-size hole opens in ozone layer above the Arctic Maybe not as bad as it first seems. A rare hole has opened up in the ozone layer above the Arctic, in what scientists say is the result of unusually low temperatures in the atmosph...

Re: CV-19: Do people really think 5G is responsible ?

In part I'm answering my own question here. In a live-streamed interview on YouTube with conspiracy theorist David Icke on Monday, he linked 5G technology to the CV-19 pandemic. YouTube said the video would be wiped. During the interview, Mr Icke falsely claimed there "is a link between 5G and ...

You’ll probably save a few lives this virus is really serious there will be no going back to normal until there is a vaccination An astute observation. It is to be hoped that the boy-racers all get eliminated in the qualifying rounds. Whether that be at the hands of our over-stretched boys-in-blue or as a result of complete mechanical failure is of no consequence. The noise transmitted for miles - it was intrusive and could be heard on Perry Hill -...

CV-19: Do people really think 5G is responsible ?

There is a substantial volume of speculation in the media, local forums and Twitter that 5G and the launch of that wireless network technology is the reason that the pandemic has spread so quickly across the globe. We are in the land of outlandish tales. It is fundamental nonsense. It is so inaccura...
