I would recommend the Green Mile driving school. There is just one lady that runs the lessons and she is very good. I think the prices are very reasonable and the first hour lesson is just £10 so it's good to give them a go and see what you think.

Hello Forum folks. I wonder if anyone can recomend a good local driving instructor or drving school. I have passed my driving test along time back but am looking to embark on a refresher course before I hit the roads again. Any contacts are much appreciated.

You could try the Livesy hall down the Bell Green end of Sydenham. I played a ukulele gig there a year ago. It's got a good stage and room for about 200 audience members.

I find I can pretty much always get a seat on the train from Sydenham station on any train from the 7.57 to the 8.19.

The concecting train from London Bridge to Charing Cross is usually a bit more crowded ( but beats the Tube in my opinion).

I'm definitely going. I saw Paprika Balkanicus earlier this year at the Royal Festival Hall Ballroom and they are fantastic. Everyone was dancing. Check out their My Space site! Also the Zong Zing Allstars are a great Congolese dance band and Cut a shine are a really good barn dance band with caller...

Does anyone know what is happening with the roadworks by the
pedestrian crossing on Sydenham Road? I dont think I've ever seen anyone doing any work on it although there does seem to be a nice pond appearing in the hole.

The Beckenham Spa is very good. It's a very well kitted out place and the pool has a lot of good light coming in. The facilities are really good and clean too and theres a training pool as well as the main one. The downside is that at £4.20, it is rather expensive although you can get a members card...

I would reccomend a great pub quiz at the Railway Bell pub in Gipsy Hill. It might be further out than you might have hoped but is very friendly and well organised. Its held every Thursday at 8.30.
