Just had a flier though from Amex saying in Nov they are supporting small businesses/ shops in a 'shop small' initiative. Sincerely hope the residential units are not allowed to be occupied until the pub is completed. Otherwise there will be less incentive to finish it off & get someone into the building.

I went to forest hill yesterday & they have quite a lot of good shops & cafes which have opened recently. The high street seems to be really evolving. One thing I picked up on was the 'I love forest hill' bags sold in the shops. Neat bit of advertising, also good way of getting it out there ...

Great article robin. I think kirkdale bookshop encapsulates all the good things about Sydenham. A shop thats really part of the community. I didn't realise they'd been going since 1966!

Just wanted to give credit where credits due. We've have been to the dolphin a couple of times recently & really enjoyed the food which seems much improved. i think the shops near kente would work quite well as a sushi place (near the station, lots of foot fall, not too big etc) or the place next to the purple medals/ trophy shop near the redevelopment of the greyhound..

Can't wait either! Agree with G-man location is key & anywhere on the main high street of cobbs corner to the dolphin you will get more people walking past. I love sushi and often have it for lunch at work. My husband doesn't like raw fish, so if u had some other choices and perhaps noodle dishes too it would help to get different people through the door. Near the station would work well as you would get a lot of people walking past which would be free ...
