I think those were built for the festival of Empire in 1911. I also believe if you look by the remains of t...

Only other thing I could think is it getting damaged during the winds\fire in the 1860s.

Best photo I can find for one of the terrace statues that you've not put up yet.

Just wondering if you know when the sphinxes for the North Wing were removed?

Can't recall seeing any images of them at all, I know from footage of the North Tower demolition they weren't there in 1941. So I am guessing they were removed when the palace was still there.

The one near to the bell was a more modern building from the 70s (I think) it was pulled down in the late 90s.

The bust was actually on the top site by the palace it self at one point, there are photos of it up there but as a very rushed look can't find the ones I want. But here are some stills from "The Pleasure Garden" and the "Phoenix Tower" with him facing the palace and also the cent...

I realised that the South Wing is not in the "Pleasure Garden" because it was burnt down in 1950 and the film was made 2/3 years later. In this image you can see some steps to the terminal building of it: http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/703/crystal9.jpg In this still from the film you c...

every decade from the 1930s-1980s something was removed from the park. The engine houses were removed in the late 60s\early 70s. In the 80s the surviving but very rotten greenhouses and other related buildings were removed.

The majority of the steps and lots of f the balustrade were pulled up\removed in the late 50s I assume for scrap merchants. If you see photos of the terraces in the 60s\70s\early-mid80s you can see how little balustrade there was left. A lot of the balustrade was replaced\restored in the 1980s. thes...
