A little later. My daughter was treated there in 1987. It was then on its last legs before being subsumed in to Lewisham Hospital, the building demolished and the current flats built.

Terrific work Falkor. Especially the land grab for what was formerly Forest Hill. The smart folks of the Sydenham Society already have the Horniman Museum photo on their brochure cover. I thought they were pushing our boundaries a bit - but not now. What's next? Are we going to demand our councillor...

Lee, Thank you for what was a very informative and valuable contribution to the debate. I must apologise if my previous posting gave an unfair impression of your company. As you realise The Greyhound is an important, if neglected, part of Sydenham and emotions will run high if it were to be unsympat...

To answer my own question I thought I would ring 'Group HQ'.

Everytime I rang 020 8763 3500 I got "This is BT Answerphone. The person you are calling is on the phone ... "

Is this a one man, one phone outfit or what?

Yesterday a bus (the one you were on?) pulled out of a bus stop into my path while signalling 'left'. Buses are big, buses can kill. Should I call for a policeperson to ride shotgun on every TfL vehicle? Who pays? Surely we should distinguish between behaviour which can be annoying to some people an...

Last week we had our dear old floor standing 30 year old Potterton replaced by a geewizz wall hung Worcester Bosch. Big job, two days - lots of new shiny pipework nicely installed almost half the price quoted by British Gas. ProGas 020 8676 0101 - and a Sydenham business to boot. Other people here h...

Well as a cyclist I am now guilty of the first two sins. I commuted into Central London for many years without the need to do it. But the recent madness of multiplying traffic lights by the dozen, lengthening the 'lighting cycle' two or three fold often having to wait while nobody crosses the road m...

Yep - going price for old pix is around £2. I note both bidders are regular buyers of South London vintage postcards. One just paid £2 for a nice colour print of St Barts so may be very local. It appears the opening bid was £12 which would suggest they attach special importance to this card. But Why...

I agree Thomas. Enthusiasm is no substitute for sufficient investment, the necessary retailing skills and a solid business plan. Well I've run my own company for 14 years, I was once a business planner. Sadly my retail experience ended with fitting flairs on ladies (oh what joy!). Which is why, no m...

Interesting. What's your achievable download speed? Like you - my router syncs at 7,616 Kbps but on tests I usually get readings in the 2 to 2.7Gbps range through one of the faster ISPs and I'm within 1/2 mile of the exchange. This is above BT's minimum guarantees for MaxADSL so my ISP cannot raise ...
