Re: how to get out of this mess

Thanks. The only insight I can perhaps offer is that my own team of 13 people has been operating with 4 people since early March 2020 as there was a civil service wide call on resources to manage CV-19. There is no realistic prospect of this being reversed any time soon. If the team leading on the c...

Re: how to get out of this mess

I can't find a corroborating source for that Stuart - Do you have one?

If so I'll get straight onto Nicola and let her know of your displeasure :D

This is a good resource for anyone reading this and concerned about the kind of misinformation that has unfortunately warped some people's grasp of reality - Covid-19 FAQ

Re: Anti mask culture

I'm sorry about that.

In all seriousness I think that we're talking about a vocal and visible minority of people who are flouting the rules. But I'm afraid I agree with you that Winter is going to be quite rough, especially our vulnerable populations, and I don't envy your predicament.

Re: The Censor in RTW Speaks Again

Same here - From my own very unpleasant experience with Chris Beech I drew the conclusion that the man is genuinely unwell and it's such a pity that he has caused so much upset in the community (of which he is no longer part). If anybody has the power to winkle him out of his position of power and i...

Then consider how much smoother your car journey will be with significantly more people walking and cycling (i.e those who can and want to). It's not just about you.

Re: Social distancing on the High Road

The guidance is there: "stay 2 metres apart from other people" - difficult to believe the message hasn't got through after a couple of months, given that it seems to be on most shop fronts. And the high street at that point was wide enough to allow you to do it - it just involves people p...

Re: Social distancing on the High Road

Temporary measures to reallocate roadspace to allow for widened pavements are required all over the Borough. Sydenham High St should be high on the list given the footfall with the station etc. Unless you provide the right infrastructure and good guidance it is very unfair to criticise individuals f...

Re: Fatal Accident Outside Catford Station

A pity to note - apart from in Stuart's contributions - the usual victim blaming, ignorance, and total lack of any kind of evidence based solution. These incidents will continue to happen as long as we tolerate the sharing of road space between people on bikes, and people driving large lorries with ...

Speaking as someone who has been attacked by CB in the past, this is a full scale, self inflicted meltdown that couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person. Great read, this
