I didn't have any experience of George Proctor, but Property World are fantastic, they really went the extra mile for us when we bought our flat through them in 2006. They are very knowledgable about Sydenham, and provide absolutely faultless and friendly service- please use them if you can!

We thought our mice had gone... we had no sign of them for 3 weeks, but they are back now and we can;t get rid of them! We have tried humane traps, snap traps, 2 types of poison (this may still work, we put one down a week ago, and one down yesterday). we've caught 2 in snap traps, but they seem to ...

Sainsburys still not up to scratch

Does anyone feel that despite the extensive refurbishment of our Sainsburys, it is still not up to scratch? We are in there regularly, and I don;t think I have ever been in at a time when the shelves are properly stocked, it always looks like it has just been ransacked! Has anyone ever seen anyone i...

We also had mice for the first time- noticed first signs about 4 weeks ago, tried humane trap and sonic plug-in, but to no effect. Woke up one night to the sound of gnawing in our bedroom and decided enough was enough, so got some snap traps- they are pretty smart mice as they completely avoided the...

I went in for the first time a few weeks ago thinking about stopping for lunch, bought a (very expensive) loaf of bread, and the service was so unfriendly I have not been back since, and do not intend to go back. Not a smile, or a 'please' when the girl asked for the money. Just '£3'. Service is one...

Noisy birds in eaves

Does anyone have any hints about how to encourage some incredibly noisy birds to stop living in our eaves? They are living in the eaves right behind my bed, and are waking me up every single night with their screeching and scrabbling. From reading up i am guessing that they are starlings, and likely...

I's great in theory that the council offers subsidies towards insulation, but I called them in September to register for the Warmzone scheme, and again a couple of weeks later to follow-up, and was told i was on the list for this and a contractor would call me about a quote, but four months later st...

I joined about 3 weeks ago- at the moment you can get a Group Peak Short term membership, and it is 2 months for the price of one (this is actually slightly misleading as it still costs £70 cos they charge a joining fee). But it's great if you just want to try out the gym and see if you can make it ...

I think we need a really good fish and chip shop- none of the horrible battery reared fried chicken, but great quality and nicely presented fish and chips. Again, the one is East Dulwich is lovely.

Also would be great to see a fishmongers, a nice wine shop and a Roullier White!

Montecassino Italian

We were planning to try Gurkha's for the first time on Friday night, but it was so busy we didn't want to wait for a table, and ended up trying Montecassino's Italian, which is opposite the Dolphin. It was quite empty in there, and I really don't understand it, becasue the food/service/value was fan...

I would love to do all my shopping at Waitrose but unfortunately can't afford to! I have tried Somerfield before but there's just so little choice it tends to be a last resort- and again it's in a bit of a state- however, maybe it will pick up under new management. We are lucky to have all the place...

'There is no excuse for sloppy store management like that. ' I keep meaning to write to Sainsbury's head office about the state of our Sainsbury's, it seems to me to be very poorly managed. I am originally from Torbay, and my local Sainsbury's provides such a good shopping experience, always well-st...
