Re: Broadband connection around Fairlawn Park

We’ve had 3 providers during our time here and never reach anywhere near speeds promised and often cuts out though not for long. When we first moved here BT came to check the line and also said it was fine. And yes, constantly see the BT vans.

Re: Camping in Mayow Park?

I saw some people this time last year - wonder if it’s the same people. The people last year weren’t doing it for fun they were either homeless or travellers.

Re: Planning alert - St Philip Neri school travel plan, last chance to comment

The school actively discourage parents and children to use the front entrance. I’m a Fairlawn resident and have noticed a welcome reduction in traffic since the entranc...

If there’s a pumpkin or Halloween decorations outside the house is usually fair game for trick or treating. When I don’t want any more round I take my pumpkin in

Re: High water pressure?

Thanks Mosy, yes I have emailed again. I have had them out since they said they fixed it and they keep saying it will be fine, but the water has started going cold now so will make another visit to them tomorrow. Thames water forced a water meter on me (think everyone will have to have one - fair en...

Re: High water pressure?

I’m no expert but is this why I had to get pro gas out to fix my 3 year old boiler ( expensive)? The pressure gauge was above 2 and pressure valve constantly dripping. Even after “fixing it” the needle still points at 2? It’s a nightmare!

We love the library and a special shout out to Steve who has been doing the summer reading challenge with my kids. I’m sure some of the other volunteers been helping too, but we always get Steve.

Re: Earlesthorpe/Thorpes - schools help please!

I know a few people in Thorpes and all at different schools and all happy. Sydenham is great for primary schools, as above poster said check catchments on the map. I’d say you have the choice of most things: Barts, Adamsrill, St Michaels, St Philip Neri. I know people who have kids in all these scho...

Re: OLSPN

I was at the public meeting chaired by Tom Copley. I live next to the school. This summer I should have been avoiding dust and noise but instead the site lies dormant. It’s not right that the small number of objectors have such a loud voice and have caused the project to come to a halt. Unfortunatel...

Re: Tomorrow's OLSPN planning meeting URGENT

The meeting was quite heated and the chair was biased towards Syd Soc members and objectors, even though technically they were in the minority. The contamination issues were pretty much quashed but Syd Soc still not sure due to documentation not being publicly available. The works to continue the pr...

Re: OLSPN: Urgent deadline for comments on St Philip Neri school redevelopment

I notice you say you are concerned about the children. Delays to the building project mean that the children have to spend more time in an unfinished building/playground. You put posters up calling their school “a monstrosity” which upset and hurt children and their families. You are accusing the sc...
