Re: KFC in Savacentre grounds?

I would never eat in a place like KFC anyway, I am very aware of the enormous risk of under cooked chicken.

Re: Rebranding Lower Sydenham

There are some very nice streets in Sydenham . Where are the residents shopping ? These Money shops are a disgrace . Over 1000% interest , usually a lot more. Nail parlours ? What did we use to do and most of us still do , cut our own nails. This surely is a luxury ( if indeed it is a luxury ) for ...

Re: Antic have withdrawn from the Greyhound

Hey folks, I took the liberty of emailing Fi of Antic (not Antic Pubs, just Antic) to see if I could gather any more info about their opening a boozer in Sydenham... She said they were still in negotiations so couldn't say anything yet, that they had pulled out of the Greyhound due to the reduced s...

Re: Rebranding Lower Sydenham

I wish I had kept my school notes from about 1961. We had to walk up and down Sydenham Rd noting each shop and whether they were a sole trader , partnership or limited company. The Helen Shapiro look alike in The Record Forum gave me short shrift. See to recall a better class of shop. There were at...

Keeping it real since 1968.

If that were the case Mike, why do so many of the "wrong" types of shops shut?

Keeping it real since 1956-----gosh, really?

Re: Rebranding Lower Sydenham

Annie Good to hear from you. I agree that regretably Sydenham not what it was. West Lewisham used to be a Conservative seat for most of the 50's and 60's . Little chance of that happening now. Mr Dowd has job for life , like Kim Jil Un. Basically most of Sydenham a nice place , but it does have an ...

Re: Rebranding Lower Sydenham

Before I lived in Sydenham,I used to travel through to my work in Dulwich Village,It used to feel like I was travelling through the countryside,I was so impressed, it was nothing like I was used to,I dont think the name Sydenham is wrong-I personally like it, but I think the reputation it now has is...

Re: Advice for the future!

Some of the people around Sydenham are low evolved, are ill-educated and they are having children, shocking isn't it. mikecg What is shocking Mike is the lack of concern over the child. The woman was at least mid 30s and should have known better. I could hardly be called a snob Mike, I come from th...
