AND !!! they are still saying The Greyhound, Sydenham to open 2012 .. it's on [Antic Pubs] their website ... so fingers crossed fellow Sydenhamites ..

but nobody has answered my question .. does anyone know what's going on in there .. there were builders in and it's closed at the moment? ..

mmm what's going on in blue mountain cafe .. a refurb? .. or are they converting themselves into a 'one-stop' funeral/pound-shop/nail-bar/charity shop/crappy grocery store that nobody wants so they can close down only to re-open as a pawn brokers specialising in Gold and poor quality fast food? oooh...

Just emailed the company re: opening of the greyhound - basically saying loads of people looking forward to it opening - could they clarify opening dates etc.

It'll be brilliant for sydenham and probably a real success in terms of being a significant distance from the dolphin.

Let's remain positive!

What a nice little shop it is. I've never really been in before .. I'm not sure the outside looks as inviting as it could - I always thought it was just a weird place selling Chinese miracle cures for baldness made up of spurious herbs and spices from unheard of obscure villages in ... well, China. ...

That's great news. I don't think it'll make much difference - they're at distinctly different ends of the high street and a lot more people will stay local rather than heading off to Lordship Lane or C Palace. Will make big difference to the 'feel' of Sydenham High Street. Dolphin a great boozer but...

Credit where credit is due - glad we've got those nice subtle white Xmas lights this year. Far better than those depressing 'colour' xmas lights from previous years. They used to make the high street look like Tooting high-street circa '87. Think they look much better. And they match with Forest Hil...

Had delicious scallops last night (simply pan fried - the nice guy in there told me how to do them). Sweet and meaty (the scallops - not him).
