Re: Man taking pictures of houses on Girton Road @ 10pm
Just had a woman taking photos of our place in the Venner Rd "toastrack" using a smartphone. She moved off quite sharpish when she saw me, but that may simply be because she'd finished what she was doing rather than any indication of guilt. Definitely not dressed like an estate agent - mor...

Re: Thinking of buying - need some advice on the area
Infuriatingly, it is priced at "Offers in excess of..." and, having made an offer in excess of the stated figure, we've just been told they were wanting at least three times that amount over.... Is it just me or is it not just a wee bit sneaky to advertise a place for a certain amount and...

Sounds like a good idea: Freecycle specifically forbids borrowing, so there's definitely a market for it.

I was wondering why Internet Explorer 8 was suddenly reporting a security issue. I just ignored it
Oh, and Firefox doesn't like it, either.

75 and 194 buses on diversion
Up through Penge High Street and down Lawrie Park Road and back onto normal route at Sydenham station, due to a water leak on Newlands Park between Homecroft and Tredown. Should be back to normal by tomorrow morning in time for the rush hour.

Penge Jumble Trail, 21st June
Haven't had time to research this much, but signs are appearing all round the Penge end of Sydenham mentioning this event on Sunday: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=%22penge+jumble+trail%22&hl=en&gws_rd=ssl&oq=%22penge+jumble+trail%22&gs_l=heirloom-serp.3...41485.43703.0.44360.2.2....

Re: Hyde Housing are awful
Hyde have a bit on their website where you can report antisocial behaviour, etc., BTW - I just don't know whether they do anything about it. We've been having some correspondence with them about another property which is historically one of theirs, and people working on it say it's one of theirs, bu...

Re: Station approach - new toilet
Presumably RADAR system is the disabled toilet access system? Don't like these "community toilet" schemes. You probably know they've got them all over Penge now, which is fine, *if* the relevant building happens to be open at the time. For example, on Sundays when Sainsbury's is only legal...

Horrible - ghastly for his family and loved ones. I hope they do catch all the perpetrators, and that justice is done. I hope justice will start with appropriate offences. Being charged with "for grievous bodily harm with intent" does not seem right. If you stab someone it should be at le...

Re: How to dispose of small dead electrical items
Thanks alywin. I was thinking maybe that site, being close enough, but I'm a resident of Lewisham rather than Bromley so would they just turn me away or expect me to have bought an out-of-borough permit? (As you correctly surmise, I'd be on foot.) I've never been asked for a permit when I've gone i...

Exterior decorator recommendation?
Our usual decorator/handyman is no longer able to cope with tall ladders, so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend someone who does exterior painting? It would be at first-floor level.
Oh, and if he did pointing as well that would be brilliant
Thanks very much.

Mosy, I don't know where you are, but Bromley's dump in Churchfields is only a short walk from the 194 bus route, if that's any use. (Or if you can walk into Penge and pick up the 354 it takes you past the entrance)

If ever you're over in Anerley, the one looking down Elmers End Road from the "Robin Hood" (or rather, where the Robin Hood used to was before it turned into Aldi ) is pretty good on the long-sight muscles, too!
