Re: WHAT IF no 13: BILLINGS Fishmongers & butchers
I finally went in yesterday after weeks of good intentions, but reading they're in need of more custom made me get my act together. I agree totally that we need to support what's here (and actually havent bought fish elsewhere either since they opened as I kept intending to go in) And I have nothing...

Re: ANNOUNCEMENTS PLATFORM 1 SYDENHAM STATION
I agree, Digime. I felt quite saddened for the guy, being ridiculed in the press actually, if you can call the Standard that. As I said, I hadnt noticed any of this at all before this post. I'm pretty distracted. When I got to the station yesterday, he was the subject of lots of covert attention. I ...

Re: ANNOUNCEMENTS PLATFORM 1 SYDENHAM STATION
I read all of this in astonishment Blimey, it must be a slow news day at the Standard (love the journalistic attention to detail, not even bothering to use the correct rail station sign!!! Haha) You will think me obtuse but I use the station every day and have hand on heart not noticed the annouceme...

I have had cause to return something in the past and it was handled with goo...

Caught the 801 this morning - in fact am on it, get me! - and it was almost empty. Fan-bl**dy-tastic forgive my gushing, but I have a six month old and am just back to work after mat leave, working a compressed full time week. It's quite full on. This service has, without exaggeration, changed my li...

I havent used the pink oyster reader at all (didnt even see them) and I am still being charged £1.30 each way! Last week I was being charged £7.40 a day I make that £33 a month! I feel like someone's paying ME to travel! Shame I hate Canary Wharf with a passion. At least the journey is now bearable!...

I work in Canary Wharf and when the ELL closed for the extension works, my journey went from 40 minutes to just over an hour. It also added about £40 a month to my fare The soft launch brought my journey down to 40 mins This morning, I nearly cried with joy - my journey time, door to door is now 30 ...

I saw one this morning sat on the northbound platform, with a driver but no passengers and closed doors. I was too chicken to get off the train and see as I have a tight window to get to work The Jubilee line was hellish though this morning so it cant open soon enough. And 7.40 return in the meantim...

Congratulations on the job offer I live 8 mins from Sydenham station and have done the commute for the last 8 years. Door to door via London Bridge takes me precisely one hour (it takes 10 mins to get out of the tube and to my desk on 49th floor) If I catch the 8.08, I am at my desk by 9. There are ...

I nearly replied to Raven Drone's post myself I'd never been or heard of the area until visiting friends the other side of Bellenden Road last week for the first time. I have to say, I had no idea where I was and knew nothing about the regeneration programme but I was very impressed, thought the roa...

When you shop or eat out, do you stay local or travel elsewhere? For groceries, I generally get Ocado deliveries and - for now at least - do some small topup shopping at any one of Savacentre, Tesco on Kirkdale or Somerfield, depending on what I need For health food supplies, I go to Wellbeing. Hai...

We went to DWH today for lunch. I actually liked the old pub, but was a bit worried about the place given all of the comments, but I really liked the layout and it was more relaxed than I expected. We were in the private dining room, which was a bit hot with the real fire in there, but the food we h...
