Re: Venetian blinds
Have you tried Designer Drapes in Penge High Street. They have done a good job with my blinds. They have a workroom above the shop where they make curtains. And they come and fit the blinds/ curtains.

Re: Going over old ground - The Hound that is Grey
The current site is an eyesore. The old pub wasn't a particularly beautiful building and looks ridiculous so close to the huge ghastly flats. Its silly getting onto our high horses for some principle, the site would look loads nicer with an open space and a few trees or cafe tables etc. I know this ...

Good home for chocolates?
I have been given 2 enormous boxes of that thorntons chocolates , big problem - I don't like chocolate. Can anyone suggest somewhere local that would welcome these? I did think of St Christopher's , but they seem to be still under renovation. Any other suggestions? [ Post made via Mobile Device ] ht...

Re: Why is there a lot of new graffiti on Sydenham High Stre
Michael, I don't think you can compare the graffiti art in Sydenham with Banksy. I wouldn't mind if we had something along the lines of a Banksy , but I hardly think you can equate the one with the dogs/ wolves / arrows or whatever with witty social comment or subtle, muted painting. I dislike the w...

Re: Why is there a lot of new graffiti on Sydenham High Stre
I think the street art in Sydenham is garish and ugly and looks like regular graffiti which is definitely ugly. i don't know who was given permission to do this or whether there was any submission of various designs etc.I am sure some people find it colourful and cheerful and looks like we are all &...

I have lived in the constituency for ages and have never seen Jim Dowd apart from once when he was incredibly rude to me. Id love to vote for someone else.

Re: Doctors Booking Procedures
There would be less pressure on a and e services if the GP system were easier to access. I can,t understand why GPS aren't open weekends and bank holidays , people don't just get ill in office hours. You shouldn't need to go to a and e for antibiotics for an ear infection or tonsillitis. Other medic...

It depends whether you mean public or private sector - I don't suppose it matters - a private school such as SHGS would count presumably. I would count any organisation as its all employment.

I wouldn't donate money to an organisation called a "youth forum", I have donated to organisations such as Kids Company where you can see tangible results of your donations.

My vote is for the decent cafes, wine bar and restaurants, some midcentury and vintage shops as are in Crystal Palace, a sewing cafe and lots of trees, flowers and even hanging baskets for an instant splash of colour.

It's funny they have room for urinals oops mean unused phone boxes, but have forgotten about bike stands!
Are they putting plants/ flowers in the roundabout or just leaving it as an artistic brick pile?

Re: Air vent for a bathroom window
http://www.walshglazing.co.uk/location.htm I think you would have to get a new pane made . I don't think they can cut a hole in an existing sealed unit. I would try Walsh glaziers in East Dulwich for advice. Link above, not super cheap but they know what they are talking about. [ Post made via Mobil...

Re: Lewisham A&E closure threat: history repeated
why do so many people go to A and E who could be easily dealt with by a GP? (maybe because its an evening/weekend/bank holiday and the GP is closed, or they didn't phone on the dot of 8 a.m.and couldn't get an appointment?)

Re: Lewisham A&E closure threat: history repeated
It's not a victory it's a complete disaster. If I get knocked down in Sydenham High Street which hospital would I get taken to under these proposals? It's not clear at all. But basically, they need to sort out the NHS lower down. A and E services are stretched partly because GP services are so dire-...

Re: "so people build c--p.”
Does anyone ask why such a high% of non British nationals work for this pay? Presumable because it is more than they would get in their home country? If they paid a living wage would more unemployed Brits apply for such jobs? Maybe that would save many of our problems - housing, schooling healthcare...
