Re: Sydenham Assembly - Thursday 12 September
Lewisham Highways man and Riney showed a great team partnership - discussing the improvement works; Lewisham Planner demonstrated lack of spine about Greyhound and other matters - weak and feeble - very disappointing and so now I can now understand how we have got to the position we are in. Good pre...

Whether you have too many estate agents or not you can always call them:

Re: What do you think?
I never realised the complexities, or health implications of hand bag ownership before. I was thinking of getting one myself (man bag) but have now, after reading these recent posts, been dissuaded. But if you leave handbags on the floor - aren't you opening yourself up to risk of theft? Just someth...

Re: Going over old ground - The Hound that is Grey
Turning up as a group might make a good 'event' for press etc. to report - and will probably be 'exciting' and get the adrenaline going - however I don't think it would succeed in getting information. Depends what the objectives are though - Purelake have shown that they don't seem to care about neg...

Re: Going over old ground - The Hound that is Grey
Just a thought - have you tried phoning Purelake? Might be a more effective way of speaking to someone from the company - and you would know that your message was delivered. It still wouldn't guarantee an answer though. Hopefully they don't have an ansaphone all the time. The trouble with email (and...

Meet at Wells Park Road entrance - the one near the Glendale Parks Maintenance hut, closer to Taylors Lane.
(Not the entrance nearer Longton Avenue).
Hopefully that's clear enough

Lewisham - least safe place in UK
This report caught my eye this morning: http://www.visionofhumanity.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/UK-Peace-Index-2013-IEP-Report.pdf I haven't gone through it in detail but LB Lewisham is apparently the least peaceful place in the United Kingdom. BBC reported that: "Rates of murder and violent...
Re: Cobbs 3AM
This club is special because its one of the few in London (certainly in Lewisham) with a 5 a.m. license - so that's why people come from all over London to it. When their local clubs close (say at 3 a.m.) they head on down to Sydenham. Police objected to the granting of this license but the council ...

Re: Admin needs your help on historical Sydenham employers
What about the Cake Shop - long time employer in Sydenham and they must employ lots of people to make the cakes for both onsite sale as well as off site delivery (contract business). Also the council - historically a large employer with their team providing services all over Sydenham - think parks, ...

Re: How to avoid Tesco, Sydenham Road
As others have pointed out Tesco operate in many countries around the world, and not just in the UK. Buying Giraffe might have more to do with helping develop their business in other countries, maybe even Asia - not all their decisions are related to the UK.

Re: Sydenham Assembly - 7pm Tuesday 5 March
Quick summary - a positive meeting with virtually no dissenting voices. A reminder of how much is changing - from the road improvements and development of pocket piazzas through to the progress towards completing the Bell green retail park. The Neighbourhood Police CI gave a super smooth speech on t...

Re: Provision for bike stands on the new high street?
Thanks for those links. However I only saw reference to secure bike 'posts' on Sydenham Approach - near the rail station. I couldn't see any sign of bike posts near Sydenham DIY or Blue Mountain, near Cobbs Corner. There were some there before works started; have been removed; and have not been repl...

Re: Demolishing restaurants / giant rabbits
Which raises the interesting question, of what is the going rate for how many years it takes to accept commercial reality / cave in to greedy developers? 18 Longton Avenue, The Greyhound, Criterion Ices? @Tim Lund - what's the problem with 18 Longton Avenue? It's not the first single house to be co...

Re: Will you use the new Greyhound Pub?
What about it becoming a shared pub and base for the Sydenham SNT (won't be as convenient for the Forest Hill or Perry Vale teams though) - the upstairs rooms could be 'staff' changing rooms or even the local lockup? Certainly would bring local policing closer to the people they need day to day cont...

Re: Cycling on Sydenham's pavements
I don't think pedestrians and cyclists sharing the same space (pavements) is dangerous in itself. An example in a busy Northern European country that clearly shows this is Copenhagen in Denmark - cyclists and pedestrians share the same space However what does cause this to all go wrong is when any o...

Just wondering what's happening with this case? I was surprised to hear this about SNT PCSOs who are normally, in my experience, a good and conscientious bunch. @SydenhamSean - any news following your meeting with the Sergeant at Sydenham Police Station. I thought it was good she wants to know what ...
