Re: 255-269 Sydenham Road - Planning Application

Managed to pop along to the library after work tonight and talk to the planners / architects about the building plans. It was very informative and it came across that local planning / investigations had been made a long time in advance, to consider what would be best for impact on the local area and...

Re: Jogging buddy/group based in Sydenham

The Park Runs are great, I've done a few now in Crystal Palace and you start to get to know a few people who do them regularly.

There's a complete range of running levels there and you soon get a bit competitive chasing the person in front to the finish line. :)

Refilling refrigeration gas in a dehumidifier

Hi People, I've got a 2 year old, regularly used DeLonghi portable dehumidifier, that has suddenly stopped collecting moisture. A quick check online leads me to believe that the unit has run out of refrigeration gas. Anyone know where I can get this refilled in the local area? DeLonghi list the gas ...

I'm also pleased to see this park getting used to it's full potential, excellent!

I'll have to pop over the road in the mornings to start a new gym regime.

Re: WHAT IF THE CINEMA IN CRYSTAL PALACE

I really hope that KICC put the property back up for sale, rather than oversea it's community use.
a cinema showing family films
I can imagine the screening timetable:
12:00 Jesus Christ Superstar
15:30 The Greatest Story Ever Told
19:00 The Sound of Music

Roy's Cafe

Hi peeps, I've noticed over the last couple of weeks that the empty Cafe (Roy's) on the corner of Highclere Street and Champion Road seems to be getting worked on, seeing as it's quite literally round the corner from me. Does anyone know if a new shop is going in, with a faint hope that it's not ano...

I'd call the council to find out. There maybe health concerns with a decomposing fox, let alone other animals snacking on it! :?

Finally got to use the new service, as I've been away for a few days. Got a train late in the evening from Canada Waters to Shadwell, to then get the DLR. Plus side is really nice new trains (with that fresh out of the box smell about them), downside was all the electronic signs were not working and...

This is indeed very tragic, I have been away for a week and got back to Sydenham last night, with no idea what had happened. Walking down from the high street to Champion Road, I was suddenly aware of the cordoned off Park, several police officers standing guard and the large amount of flowers and m...

A shame nothing seems to be being done about that awful eyesore with the bricked-up windows a bit further down, opposite the library. It's a shame because it's an attractive building. Could be converted into some pretty nice flats. I live just down from these houses and they had an eviction notice ...

Hi Claire,

So how did you do on the London marathon?

The weather seemed perfect for it (much nicer than the heat I did the first Brighton Marathon in, the weekend before), apart from the mornings rain. :)

I was catching a train just before 1pm today and one of the new trains pulled into Sydenham station 5 minutes before my train, with an announcement that this was a test service only and the train was not in passenger use. My neighbor had the remains of what we could only be guessed at a cat, left in her back garden last year, but it was heavily decomposed and may have been lying around for ages before being moved and left there. There are some old unused allotment areas behind a part council/privately owned block of ...

Train delays into London Bridge

Just seen the BBC news this morning, talking about the delays getting into London Bridge station due to a nearby fire.

Dare I ask how bad is it getting in to town?
