Re: I LOVE TIM LUND
I have a vine from which I make lovely stuffed vine leaves (with the leaves) and I have mint, sage, rosemary, garlic and oregano growing in my garden. I also have a crabapple tree and a pear tree. I live off Lawrie Park Gardens.

Re: Sydenham Roundabout
Forget about policy or waiting until all the work's finished. Where are the Guerilla Gardeners when you need them??
Maybe we should start a group here??
What about SEE3? Can't you organise an exhib/installation on the roundabout???

Sydenham Roundabout
Sorry if this question's been asked already but does anyone know what's happening with the roundabout at Cobb's Corner? When will it be populated with plants?? If nothing happens with it soon we start to put artistic installations on it. I was thinking of a couple of deck chairs with dummies sunbath...

Re: The Dreary Christmas Lights of Sydenham Town
Thanks Maria. I'm pleaseed to hear that you are now in agreement. We need to somehow ensure that Sydenham Road never has these lights ever again. If it means doorstepping our local MP then so be it.

Eagle, are you serious? It's going to be a pub?! Opposite another pub?! Just down the road from a half built pub?! Aaaarrggghhhh!!!

Re: The Dreary Christmas Lights of Sydenham Town
Thanks Rachael for agreeing with me about the dreary lights on the magnificent Xmas tree outside the post office. Now, if they were as bright as the ones on the St Christopher's Hospice tree, as gerispringer highlighted, that would be wonderful indeed.

'And I love the street lights too: simple, elegant, understated'.
Maria, 'understated' is an overstatement! IT'S CHRISTMAS PEOPLE!! FFS. This is the only time when you can get away with going over the top. If Penge can do it why can't Sydenham???

Re: The Dreary Christmas Lights of Sydenham Town
I too am extremely embarrassed of the Christmas lights in Sydenham Road, as well as the pathetic lights on the Christmas tree outside the post office. Penge managed to get some half decent lights and a big sign saying 'Seasons Greetings from Penge' why couldn't the Sydenham organisers have arranged ...

Re: Sydenham Hub - Jill - Peh!
I'm really disappointed. I was under the impression that the Sydenham Hub was going to be somewhere vibrant where people could hang out, with somewhere to sit, have a coffee and a chat. Where you can pick up info on local events and causes, etc. I get the impression that it's more of a showcase for ...

Re: RIP DYLON FACTORY
I love this building too. It is beautiful. I would love to be able to see inside and take photos. It would be such a shame for it to be knocked down. Is there no way that we can save it? How can it be allowed for a listed building to be demolished? Doesnt make any sense.

Regardless of whoever it was who dumped the rubbish a big WELL DONE to LondonCalling for taking the initiative and ringing the council. :D :D Otherwise, who knows how long those full bins would have been left there... It's local individuals like LondonCalling that deserve a big pat on the back for t...

Re: Support your local French bakery!
It's Sunday morning, peeing with rain and I've just been to La Bonne Bakery and bought a nice freshly baked loaf which I have just had with scrambled eggs. The bread is delicious! I also got myself a freshly baked almond croissant - a treat for later. What a luxury it is to have a bakery offering su...

Re: Amex: supporting small shops?
I also received one. Unfortunately, I find that smaller independent businesses do not accept Amex due to the high charges imposed on them by Amex. Therefore, I doubt the promotion would be much of a success. No wonder they are offering such a great deal in the flyer because you'll be hard pressed on...
