Burns Night at The Hill - Saturday 24th January

The Forest Hill Society are joining with The Hill on Dartmouth Road* to bring you a traditional Burns Supper. This is an event popular with people from across Forest Hill and Sydenham, so I hope you don't mind me posting here. Burns night will start at 7:30 for drinks and chats, bring old friends wi...

Re: SEE3- new developments

SEE3 does not just comprise of Chris Best. For example: Michael you follow the posts on the Forum regularly, you are involved with SEE3. Is that right? If so why are you not contributing, why is no one from SEE3 doing this? Instead we find out there are further bids via SEE3 which have not been wid...

Lee,
I was just about to suggest you try the Framing Salon in Forest Hill, run by the same people as Stag & Bow. http://www.foresthillsociety.com/2014/1 ... salon.html
Nice to hear you are already talking to them.

I would be happy to pass on her details via PM, if you want them. She is a lovely lady who lives locally and has had shops all over London in the past but has now chosen to open a shop close to where she lives.

Re: Sydenham Station Shutdown

On 27th and 28th December there will be a replacement bus service operated by Southern to London Bridge. As a result of lobbying by Forest Hill Society this replacement bus service will be increased from 4 buses per hour to 10 buses per hour (6 buses to/from London Bridge and an additional 4 to/from...

Re: Overground - first five carriage train arrives!

Barry, I don't think you are being entirely fair to Richard. Yes, there will be more capacity on the Bakerloo line, although not all will necessarily get as far as Hayes (some may terminate at Lewisham, to allow for increased capacity on the central section, and others may be diverted to Bromley tow...

Re: SEE3- new developments

If I may, I'd like to briefly defend the concept of the animal safari which was met with enthusiasm when presented to the SEE3 meeting which included traders, artists, local people and forumites. It is not a new idea, it is inspired by the cow parade and similar projects around the world: http://en....

You wouldn't get me in Zanzibar, in aid of Ebola or not. How about for a community consultation tomorrow evening on running all night on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, and New Years Eve? http://sydenham.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=12239&p=105145 However, the public have no real say in whet...

I'm pleased it has been corrected with the correct name and the correct job title. And I think that Mr Jasper has dealt with harsher criticism in the past.

Re: Building site on Sydenham High Street

In response to Michael - who I think may be being a bit facetious here - I don't see any reason to question the judgement which planning officers have made on the amount of "affordable" housing and this scheme's overall viability. Of course they may have got it wrong, and should have held...

Re: SEE3 Town Team meeting - 7pm Thursday 30 Oct

Louise will be opening up a permanent shop soon. It has no chance of working. I'm sure everybody else on this forum wishes Louise every success with her new business, and in putting her personal money where her mouth is. I don't think any new independent business should be attacked in this way befo...

Admin,
I hope you don't mind me using your picture in this way. I posted your picture to their Google+ account which was sadly lacking any nice pictures. Rather nice effect I think.

Re: Rebuild the Greyhound Pub Campaign #rebuildthegreyhound

I'm no hacker, but I believe it would be possible to register a domain and set up a site linking directly to the campaign to save the Greyhound. With links for local websites, and greater traffic than their main site, there is a good chance it could move higher up the Google rankings. But that is pr...

Re: Rebuild the Greyhound Pub Campaign #rebuildthegreyhound

I think reviews work slightly differently to comments on a page. Hopefully deleting reviews is at least against the spirit of Facebook.
Leave your own reviews and we'll see what happens.
