Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
Almost all of the hoarding has been taken down and replaced with mesh fencing, so you can actually see it all from street level now.

Re: Major Disturbance Cobbs Corner
I'm surprised only 3 were arrested. Most of the noise actually came from the females and a saw some extremely agressive behaviour from many of them towards the police. Obviously I don't know the cause of the affray but I saw at least 5 different females I thought were going to get arrested themselve...

Re: Major Disturbance Cobbs Corner
(I read somewhere) that the more of your boy-knickers that are shown on display, the higher up you are supposed to be in any "gang"s pecking order. Surely the people who are purportedly the brains, or leaders of any operation, should be able to dress themselves properly, affording clothes...

Re: Major Disturbance Cobbs Corner
I live right there but only heard noise after the fighting started. No idea what happened but one male youth was arrested and carted off from outside the chemist opposite Cobbs Corner and then the van came back and they arrested another two male youths. Eventually more police turned up and they stra...
Re: Gunshots
Blaming the parents without knowing the facts seems rather harsh. Parenting can be an impossibly challenging task. Who knows what difficulties these boys' families (assuming they had any) were having to cope with? With all due respect, no one has said it's the parent's fault that these kids were ou...

At that age, they should not even be out at 0345am let alone with a gun. #ParentingFailalywin wrote:Scary. Are they even old enough to legally own a gun?

I was actually thinking about visiting the Golden Lion anyway, as an ex-publican I wanted to check it out for myself.
See you there.
See you there.

As of midday today, they are taking some of the scaffolding down. You can really see more of the building now. Will post a picture later when more of it is gone.

Re: #RebuildTheGreyhound - pub to be rebuilt by April 2015?
Just gonna chime in on the whole "parking" thing... Should we really encourage a pub go-er to bring their car? I think that is best left at home, drink to your hearts content and use one of the many fantabulous transport links Sydenham has to offer. #SafetyFirst That said, I live across th...

Re: Thinking of moving to Sydenham...please help
Speaking of the doctors' surgeries -- could people possibly comment on which is better and why? Thanks! Well, I first tried to register at the Sydenham Surgery opposite Sydenham station but after being treated like a piece of dog mess on the bottom of someone's shoe by the receptionist, I walked ou...

It's been a while (lack of site activity) since I posted a picture from my slightly higher vantage point than street level so you can see what has been happening, so here is a new #GreyhoundSelfie

Re: Thinking of moving to Sydenham...please help
Hi Barbara! I moved to Sydenham 1 year ago (18th October). Unless I am forced to I can't imagine I will be moving anywhere else soon. The high street has everything I need, transport links are fantastic and the people/community are great. I moved here from Bethnal Green so I do know what you mean ab...

Re: Closure of Lawrie Pk Road
Panic over! I have had a reply from Lewisham suggesting that this will turn out to be a minor event at some indefinite time in the future: The works are telecoms works to lay a new duct, however the works are not finally programmed yet and the Temporary Traffic Order has been made with this is mind...

Re: And the next Admin will be ...
I'd be happy to look after moderation (outside the pub) as I do this already on another forum board. Whether I would have the expertise to be full admin I am not sure, though I was admin of a small gaming community forum before where setting up new boards and adjusting posting read/write priveleges,...
