Re: Sydenham

From what I understand, all the schools buildings programmes in Lewisham ARE going ahead. About half are complete and the rest are too far advanced in the planning to scrap.

Re: HOME PARK OUTDOOR GYM & OTHER IMPROVEMENTS

Spent an hour in Home Park this afternoon Only 15 minutes were spent at the adventure playground, however. It was being well used, but there were a lot of little kids in there (age six and under). My two (age 12 and 9) felt they couldn't relax because they were always trying not to bump into the lit...

As someone who works from home, I'd second that business supply / stationery shop.

Re: waitrose looking for location

I do most of my shopping in Sainsburys, but there are a few key items that I go to Waitrose for because the quality is better or I just can't get the item elsewhere. I tend to nip into the Waitrose in Beckenham when I'm driving past (which is several times a week) and I can't see that changing. Whet...

She lost me at 'two elderly ladies', one of whom joined a local message board and posted just shy of midnight on a Saturday night. I'm not saying this post isn't genuine, but it's certainly a little odd.

Re: Fairlawn Park Stabbing

Hi GillM - I certainly take your points. I'm not trying to paint every resident on Fairlawn in the same light, I can only recount my own experience. When that woman was abusing me over the parking, people came out from the house beside hers (and I think one other) and shouted their support for her. ...

Re: Road *!@!! works!

Yes, thank you for the update, SGN, but the burning question is - when will you be finished. You mentioned August before - is that still the timetable? The tailbacks from the temporary lights at Kent House Road are just as spectacular the second time around.

Re: Fairlawn Park Stabbing

I didn't really have the time to go into a long explanation for BBW but I will do tonight. What's any of this got to do with me? This is the first contribution I've made on this tragic, yet already quarrelsome thread. Your reputation precedes you, Wolfie, to the point where it arrives on the thread...

Re: Fairlawn Park Stabbing

I've had kids at Our Lady and St Philip Neri school, at the corner of Fairlawn Park, for quite a few years now. I'm no shrinking violet - I grew up in Belfast in the 1970s, I've lived all over London and in New York for many years. I know when to keep my head down and when to speak up. I'm realistic...

I prefer them to unco-operative plums.

Sorry. *Sigh*. Should have restrained myself.

If you look on the ED forum, they are very unhappy with their new Co-operative, also formerly a Somerfield. Doesn't sound as if they liked it much when it was Somerfield, either, though.

Or if you have a point to make about the original post, make it and bring the thread back on topic. Threads meander, but they can always be pulled back to the topic if it is one people want to discuss.

Re: The Teapot Deli

Had a coffee in SE23's latest opening, St David's, this morning. For those of you who, like me, like your coffee beefy, this is the place to go. I had a flat white and it was delicious - dense, hot and strong enough to trot a mouse across. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://sydenham.org.uk/mobil...

Re: New Forum me no likey

Ah, well, stripped down version is great for a phone, but looks horrid on the ipad. However, it is a little easier to get me finger on the little 'last post' tag on the mobile version.

20% more ugly, more like. Not sure about this one, admin.

Oh, hang on a minute, it looks different on my iPad (wider, greyer) but like the old (new) version on my mac. Confused.

Re: se23.com - an exile from the north speaks out

Thanks for that, Michael. I have no idea whether the powers that be at SE23.com are mad or just not up to the job. It's a role to be performed with finesse, not a sledge hammer. Watch out, you'll be in pre-mod any minute now. *later* I'm having a little giggle to myself now, watching SE23 admin tryi...

Re: se23.com - an exile from the north speaks out

I saw that - how did the whole of the old fish n chips thread get 'regurgitated'? If the blog gets a sufficient number of 'followers' that may form a quorum for a new forum (I'm a poet!) I'm out of pre-mod, finally, and we can now add posts in the Trading Post, which is good. But someone (possibly l...

Re: se23.com - an exile from the north speaks out

There are bemused SE23ers looking for their Fish and Chips thread, which was a lively little discussion (yes, honestly). If any of you wander over here, see my first post in this thread and accept my apologies for getting your favourite thread removed. Maybe someone who isn't in pre-mod can let the ...
