Re: Pot holes and pavements

About time I began to feel that the buses had square wheels, are they doing the entire road? They're working from the junction of Wells Park Road and Kirkdale to the parade of shops up by Peter's Path Estate at the moment, that section of road is currently closed. Not sure if they'll finish that sec...

Re: Pot holes and pavements

At long last, it looks like work is being carried out on Wells Park Rd. Heavy machinery was parked up over the weekend, and all the workmen there this morning.....

Fingers crossed they have more success this time.

Have been there a few times too, very good food and service every time. They've got a two course special on at the moment for £10 too on certain nights (Sunday to Thursday I think, but you'd have to double check), absolute bargain.

I'm amazed there are no KFC or Mac D's on the High Street Its one of the few towns I've ever been to without either one of them. Maybe the rents are too high, or the market isn't big enough. Both Crystal Palace and Forest Hill had a McDonalds for as long as I can remember, and both have closed down...

I went to the motorsport event in Crystal Palace Park about 9 - 10 years ago and it was a superb day.

Will definitely be there this year if I'm around that weekend.

Wells park road..... I suppose the council don't think the road is important enough to be re surfaced as it is generally a "council estate" area.Whereas Longton Avenue, has just been resurfaced from beginning to end and is used a lot less than Wells Park Road I last had contact with the H...

The Foresters / All Inn One on Perry Vale SE23 have a poker night, think it's on Mondays. Their website is a couple of week out of date with what's happening there, but I'm sure Richard or Julia will give you an update if you contact them: http://www.allinnone.org.uk/

Hi Sydeman,

If you go in the park entrance near the Chulsa Estate, bear left when you get to the private fishing lake, then head down the slope towards the sports centre. When you get to the gated roadway bit to the sports centre bear left and it would have been there on your left hand side.

He also lived at 2 Manor Mount (behind the Sainsburys in Forest Hill) for some time when much of the building was a German girls school - there's a blue plaque there.

From my own point of view, this scheme (depending what exhibition is on) will give me a reason to stroll to the high street when I might not otherwise bother. Chances are I'll pop in to Kente or somewhere while I'm there, have a look around to see if anything else is new, maybe pick up some food for...

Good to see the site attracted some bidding interest (although unsold) -'the last bid was £422,500 and is available at £430,000', according to the auctioneer's site.
