Long overdue, but hopping off at Sydenham station on Saturday afternoon me and MrsW eventually tried Kente - we'll definitely be going back too. The guy running it (and the other staff) were very nice, then there's the tucked-away garden out the back, and v good coffee. The Portugese custard tarts w...

And... the boogers have dug up the traffic island on the corner of Kirkdale/Wells Pk Rd which means you now have to walk across 3/4 'lanes width' of traffic to get across! Not a safe junction, methinks. Gaz, I reported that island removed by Thames Water to Lewisham Council about 6 weeks ago and it...

Hi Fishcox, I joined LA Fitness in January for pretty much the same reasons as you, and I think it's good value. There are more flashy gyms around but the machines are well maintained and the staff are helpful. A few of the changing room lockers have had the locks ripped off, so it looks like someon...

Local Printers
Hi,
Can anybody recommend a decent local printer to produce good quality invitations? I know the big printing firm that was opposite That's Amore on Kirkdale is closed down and don't know of any others locally.
Thanks for any suggestions!

its a private plate but nothing special I would suspect that because it's a private plate it won't have a year prefix and they could put the plates on a car of any age without raising a visual suspicion. If you put new '58' prefix plates on a 15 year old Escort I'm sure they'd get pulled over in no...

TimA, I see you're located near Wells Park. Your bike didn't disappear about 5 - 6 weeks ago by any chance did it? There was a red one abandoned in a neighbours front garden in Halifax St. I left a voicemail and emailed the Safer Neighbourhoods Team as it was definitely stolen but didn't hear anythi...

Every day when I return from work in the evening peak, I approach the barriers and my oyster card (zone 1-3 travelcard) doesn't work. It works fine at London Bridge and all other stations...[/b] I've had exactly the same problem on both of the regular sized barriers at Sydenham, and when the ticket...

I agree with the posts so far. Speaking from a personal point of view it's very handy for people coming from the Kirkdale end of Sydenham - whether for platform 1 or going over the bridge to platform 2. And re the comment about disabled commuters or parents with buggies/prams - are they supposed to ...

Cobb's Corner bus stop - information display?
Does anyone know who to contact to try and get a bus arrival display on the bus stop just along from Floorzone & Sugahill at Cobbs Corner? There's always loads of people waiting at that stop, but as buses arrive from either Westwood Hill or Sydenham High Street you don't actually know if anythin...
