Re: How Cobbs Corner is changing

Good point but the roundabout is an embarrassment, with all the rubbish and carrier bags and drying shrubs. That's what the passing traffic sees as an introduction to Sydenham. Yet, the council has issues with the 'Health and Safety' of the staff who might maintain it. So the solution is not to. It'...

Re: Wft is wrong with Lewisham Council

I wonder if you contacted Chris the councillor whether she might know? I think it's outrageous the way trees are not treated with a bit more respect when they are pruned by some of these contractors. :(

Re: Trees in Lewisham

The giant majestic 200 year old tree on the junction of Thakeham Close, SE26 and Lawrie Park Gardens is currently being felled :( It is on private land destroying the low level wall and pavement. However, the tree was there before the Close was built! It was around in 1820. It's taken them two full ...

Re: FOXed!

I have several foxes and a cub that regularly frequent my garden. They each have their own character and one likes to be stroked on the nose. They are warey of humans, which is good, but I know they are completely harmless.

They are gorgeous creatures. :)

Re: Roundabout at Cobbs Corner

Thanks for chasing Chris. I appreciate it's a bit dangerous but considering that I have thought about doing it myself I can't see why the council with all their bollards and high vis can't do it pronto. In hindsight, they should have built the roundabout higher TBH to prevent cars from mounting it, ...

Roundabout at Cobbs Corner

Does anyone know who is responsible for maintaining the roundabout at Cobbs Corner? There is rubbish strewn over it and the outer shrubs have died. We need it rescued as it's a bit of an embarrassment at the moment.

Re: STILL NO SYDENHAM CHRISTMAS TREE OR LIGHTS?!

Most of us don't hear about these events until it's too late. Is there a Sydenham events page on this forum or elsewhere where they are listed in advance of them happening so that we can plan ahead and attend them? Admin, maybe a page should be added to the Board Index titles 'Town Events'? Just an ...

Don't know what you mean by #stopfundinghate. What is the context of your comment when advising to not click on the link?

If it's cancelled then local people should know about it.

Do you know anything different? If so, please share.

Yet another year of unimpressive lights in the High Street and a sprig for a Christmas tree. Who will take responsibility for this? Why does this keep happening and how can this be changed?
