Re: Cobbs 3AM

There's a meeting at the Grove Centre Church at 7pm on Thursday 18th April with the licensing sergeant Jim Abbott to gauge public feeling about the nuisance caused by the presence of the club and the subculture that has grown up around it. Please do attend if you want to have a chance to air your v...

Re: Ken Lloyd Carpets

I'm so sorry to hear this, he was a great guy, friendly and helpful, only in there for a quote a few weeks ago.
My parents got carpets from him since he opened and I've done so myself for the last 30 years.
My sincere condolences to Mary.

Re: 2 muggings at knife point in Silverdale

Catford, Lewisham and Deptford. That said where they parade from has little bearing on where they will go to a call: I believe the man who chased your son's attacker was a Deptford officer (if it's the incident I'm thinking of) Could well be as I didn't put that bit  Based on that, the car ca...

Re: 2 muggings at knife point in Silverdale

it's not like there would be a cadre of police officers sitting in there waiting to charge out..... as it is the police officers based at the three "parading" police stations on the borough don't just sit in there waiting for a call - they are out and about. Proximity to police stations d...

Re: 2 muggings at knife point in Silverdale

I spoke to a cso earlier who was unaware of last nights incident but said there were 3 in the last 10/14 days in silverdale, so my son makes 4. My son thinks the closure of the Sydenham police station has resulted in increased crime in the area over the last few years and would like to see it reinst...

Re: 2 muggings at knife point in Silverdale

Either attempted robbery or he intended to stab him for no reason. It was held in his hand in such a way that, from behind, he would have put his arm around sons neck and held knife to the throat but as my son turned around as he was literally behind him within an arms length. My son and his friend ...

2 muggings at knife point in Silverdale

Just a warning to anyone around the area, my son's friend was mugged at knife point Saturday evening by 2 guys, one approached him asking for a cigarette and then another came from behind with the knife. He gave them what he had, which was a mobile and small amount of cash. Then last night my son wa...

Re: ex-Proctors Estate Agents

Its rare that Estate Agents " earn " there money, As an ex agent of around 20 years experience I would disagree. I earned every penny! In by 8.30 shut up shop at 6.30-7pm then evening viewings after and home between 7.30-8pm. Constant pressure to get viewings/sales/instructions and pressu...

Re: The Three Musketeers

Saw this on on Friday and very enjoyable it was too. My only criticism is that the young girl playing Constance was talking at the same level as if she was having a chat over a cup of coffee, so I have absolutely no idea what she was saying unless she was 10ft away and directly in front me. Other th...

Re: Lewisham Council - £60m of spending cuts!

Why are my council taxes paying for others to drink bottled water? I dont, and he could take a pay cut, that is sensible.

Is there an on line breakdown for council spending?

Re: Lewisham Council - £60m of spending cuts!

It's time the Mayor 'got real', he should join the others in this country that have taken a pay cut to keep their jobs.
That would save a few jobs going at Sydenham library :D

I asked them a couple of months ago for not only a tree outside my home, but for my whole road. :D
Should know the outcome by August, with planting starting from October.

Will ask for some trees on both sides of Sydenham Road, right upto Cobbs corner.

I agree about the lack of trees. There should be some around the kirkdale book shop area and maybe a few more around the greyhound/kirkdale bit. I would be happy to water and care for them and the roundabout too for that matter. Used to sneak some flowers into the old one before they put the current...

Get rid of the lights, push and shove used to work fine, but if that's not good enough then a roundabout would work.
