Re: No Water

There also seems to be very low pressure on Silverdale this morning, it wasn't great yesterday but today is much worse.

Car break in

Just wanted to make everyone aware that there have been a spate of car break-ins in the local area. Mine was just done this afternoon in broad daylight in my driveway on Silverdale near the station (in the last two hours so if anyone saw anything, let me know!) and I know of at least one other in th...

Re: Has your stop water valve been painted white? Here's why

I wondered about this as mine has been marked white and there are some clearly marked pipes across the end of the drive too. Was worried it could have been some sort of 'tagging' so contacted Thames Water who had no idea so it's interesting to know what it might be! I'll look out for a letter explai...

Re: Sydenham vs Forest Hill

I live down Silverdale and have never felt unsafe walking home at night from the station or the 176 - obviously you have to be aware of your surroundings and who is walking near you but that goes for anyone walking anywhere after dark. We have the lovely Mayow Park and are also close enough to use C...

Re: Parking problems

Residents parking? Unless Lewisham own the building that is a private issue: take it up with your freeholder Unfortunately we seem to have found ourselves in an area that has been largely sold off from the council and so Lewisham Homes now claim it isn't their responsibility, and Lewisham Council c...

Re: Parking problems

I would absolutely support a CPZ covering Sydenham. In fact, I've previously requested the council put one in on the residents parking area outside my house on Silverdale...which many commuters think is a station car park! The council didn't bother to respond, in fact they were surprised someone was...

I used Gilham and Gilham. They're not local but they cover the area and Glen, who owns the company, is incredibly knowledgeable. Not a pushy salesman in sight!!

Re: Crown Tree Services

I used Oxleas Tree Care to remove a massive rotten Cherry Tree from my Garden. Was very pleased with the work they did - and if I still had a tree I would definitely use them again! I think they have a website, but I got their details through a recommendation. On the subject of preservation orders.....

Re: Silverdale top end water leak - road dug up

Thanks for the info mosy! I suspected they'd have to start digging! Hopefully people will take care if they have to use the junction while it's being fixed!

Re: Water leak on Silverdale

In fairness, Thames Water did actually have two vans at the site late on Sunday night. They did things like walk up and down the street and let water out of other 'vents' (for want of another word) and look at the leak in a puzzled way but their visit seemed fairly short lived. I've reported the lea...
