Robbery by knife point in Sydenham

I saw the police board the other morning at the top of Silverdale saying that somebody had been held at knife point ...... I think at 8pm !

Shocking.

I talked to Henry, our community police officer, about this when we met in Sydenham Road yesterday. It appears that a robbery took place and that a knife was threatened but not brandished or used.

Kirkdale should be avoided by lone people after nightfall - walk along Sydenham Road and up one of the other roads if you can.

Sorry I meant Silverdale (and the "alley" through from the staion, not Kirkdale

I used to live in Bampton road, which is off of Silverdale and would never walk Silverdale after dark. The lighting along there was terrible. I no longer live in that area so i don't know if the lighting has been improved ?
