Free one-stop shop for pets this Friday (19 May)

Post by BatterseaDogs&Cats »

Pet owners are invited to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home's new one-stop shop events in Sydenham this May.

On Friday 19 May, staff from the world-famous charity will be welcoming members of the public and their dogs for veterinary health checks and behaviour advice. The event is held in partnership with Sainsbury’s, Lewisham Borough Council, the Metropolitan Police, and Cats Protection.

Battersea staff will also be on hand offering free microchipping, just over a year after microchipping dogs became mandatory for dog owners in the UK.

Owners can also get free engraved tags for their pets and vouchers for cat neutering.

Battersea’s Community Engagement van, which was funded by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, will be at Sainsbury's in Southend Lane, Bell Green from 11am-4pm.

Battersea’s Community Engagement Manager, Keith Smith, said: “This is a great opportunity for pet owners to come along and take advantage of some expert advice and health checks for their animals. It’s all part of Battersea’s work to promote responsible pet ownership and the one-stop shop is designed to meet every pet owner’s needs. Working with our brilliant community partners really helps us reach more residents.

“Battersea doesn’t just rescue and rehome dogs and cats – we also spend a lot of time out in the community to help people learn more about looking after their pets, so do stop by when we’re out and about in Sydenham and feel free to bring your dog.”
