More bin outrage
I didn’t get my bins emptied today. Anyone else have the same?
Re: More bin outrage
Hasn't Tuesday been delayed to Wednesday on account of the Bank holiday?

It certainly has if you're Bromley: I can't speak for Lewisham.

Thanks all. I don't understand why this happens. Surely a Tuesday is a Tuesday regardless of whether the preceding day was a bank holiday?
Re: More bin outrage
AFAIR in the distant past Lewisham used to 'slip a day' when there was a bank holiday. So if your day was Monday it would become Tuesday and so on until the next bank holiday when it would slip again.
Nowadays Lewisham appear to just slip a day for the week and make up by working the following Saturday so it reverts to the usual day the following week. Given that refuse workers should be entitled to a bank holiday and they now work the extra day - isn't this the fairest way?
Given that the poor Monday people would otherwise be going an extra week rather than an extra day?

No, not really. It’s a little joke! What’s that thing called when you use a bit of massively unnecessary hyperbole for the purposes of light relief?
