I wonder whether any local historians have any information on this annual occasion from the nineteenth century. It is a topic in another group I belong to where a poster popped up advertising an excursion to the event by the London and North Western Railway.
Who were the Crystal Palace Foresters?
I know the building they occupied remains in Westow Street in the triangle.

Re: Crystal Palace Foresters Fete
I know that the Foresters were a kind of association for social and welfare purposes, though I don't know about the Crystal Palace lot. I am sure an expert will be with you in a minute. Steve Grindlay's your man, I'm sure!
Re: Crystal Palace Foresters Fete
They were a friendly society. Some information is on the freemasons site but so far as I know they were not recognised as freemasons... unless someone knows otherwise.JRW wrote:I know that the Foresters were a kind of association for social and welfare purposes, though I don't know about the Crystal Palace lot.
