Road re-opened 23:10.

Superbly efficient work by emergency services. Thank you.

Saw one heavily bandaged casualty walking to ambulance. Very lucky individual - the vehicle he got out of is one the most heavily damaged seen at many accidents just after the bend at the Lescombe Road/Perry Hill junction.

Porsche TD with foreign plates embedded below rear axle of neighbour's box van.

Fire Brigade jacked up entire box van and used rescue vehicle to extricate the Porsche.

Looks like a typical type of accident for this bend.

Drivers are frustrated at delays at several traffic lights at Bell Green - then see a a clear bit of road ahead and are tempted to put the foot down - and are not prepared for the bend that confronts them. There are flashing speed warnings present and calming islands have been introduced - but to no avail. We only see a reduction in collisions when the Shell anti skid surface on the bend is fairly fresh - but at this time it is almost non-existent.

As I said earlier, the driver was very lucky to survive.
