Trouble on Kirkdale/Sydenham Hill

Major traffic problems, I'm told. Buses diverted along Dartmouth Road, congestion on Thorpewood Avenue. Emergency vehicles seen at top of Kirkdale earlier this morning.

Anyone know what that was all about today? Had to go all round the houses to get to East Dulwich this morning. Got almost to the top of Sydenham Hill and saw a huge Clarkes coach trying to do a three point turn in front of us. Driver did a good job and then we saw police car blocking the road at the top by the roundabout.

Earlier this morning around 6.00am there were lots of sirens going and what we know now must have been emergency services racing up Kirkdale.

There was apparently a serious accident at the mini-roundabout at the top of Sydenham Rise, and traffic was closed off from there down to the Horniman. All the buses were diverted, and there seemed to be no 356 bus running at all when I tried to take one mid-afternoon.
