New Sydenham Film Club wants to hear from you!

Sydenham residents have to travel far to visit the nearest cinema – and when they get there it costs a good £10. So we are setting up a regular film club in the town centre, so people can get together and enjoy an affordable cinema experience on their doorsteps. We’ve got a big screen and a projector, so it’ll be just like the real thing – but friendlier and more fun! We’ve secured funding from Sydenham local assembly’s Mayor’s Fund – and now want to hear from residents of Sydenham (and surrounding areas) about:

* what films you’d like to watch
* your opinions about venue, screening times and ticket costs
* how you might want to help us run the film club.

Thank you for the link to the thread. It certainly looks like there's interest in having a film club in the area.

Thank you to those of you who've filled in our survey, but we would like to hear from more of you. If you haven't done so already, please fill in our 5 minute survey at http://www.sydenhamfilmclub.org and let us know what films you would like to see, ideas for venue, timings and ticket price.

So far, suggestions for films has ranged from the old classics like Great Expectations and It's a Wonderful Life to foreign films such as Pan's Labyrinth to the more recent Buitiful as well as animation like Persepolis.

Sounds like a good idea.

Perhaps you could talk to Antic Ltd about setting it up in The Greyhound when it reopens. I am sure that they would be only too pleased to help.

As for films, I would prefer the classics.
