G-Man
I'm totally reassured that the developers are 100% trustworthy and will honour their plans.

Just the Front Wall standing now . . . Does n't look good.

On an up-note they have cleaned the existing brickwork.

I've got to say this development is not only an eyesore,
its completely impractical and a blight on Sydenham.

Cobs Corner was a reasonably attractive place once,
and I for one enjoyed the odd pint sitting outside the Greyhound.

I note they have taken some of the large windows and put them to one side to refit later. They are digging out the basement to re-sink the foundations by the look of it. Am amazed the last remaining wall is still standing.

Give it a couple of weeks. If this ever returns to being a pub I'll eat my pants.

Looks like there is nothing left behind the tarpaulin!
Maybe they will surprise everybody when it comes down.

Perhaps they will rename it 'The Copperfield'.

I got this from Antic pubs:
No I am afraid we are not quite ready to announce the new Sydenham venue yet, but don't worry, you will have a lovely new pub shortly.

I will add you to the mailing list and let you know as soon as I am given
the go ahead.

Again I ask where is C. Best? Is the council not aware of this? It is completely laughable the developers seem to be getting away with destroying a vital part of our high st!

Mmm, depends on whether you have a glass half empty or a glass half full outlook on life.

It's all down to these two half's.

If they have pulled it down completely guess they will be prosecuted.

I regretably think the Pub is a lost cause. Too small for a modern business to be interested.
Might as well pull it down and build more flats

It's only a lost cause because it was allowed to become one as soon as the developers shut it down and left it to deteriorate before half heartedly securing the premises. The whole thing stinks.

Tarpaulin is off this morning and, as reported, only the front elevation remains. However, they were craning the original windows back in, so it seems rebuilding is indeed continuing apace.
