Potholes all over Syenham High Street

Post by Bazman76 »

Hi there,

Are you fed up of the generally poor state of repair of Sydenham high street?

It just seems to be one big series of potholes all the way from the juntion on to the A2218 (Sainbury's juntion) up to the roundabout leading onto Westwood Hill.

Particular black spots being both sets of traffic lights when you are traveling up hill.

All we can do is keep reporting them till someone comes and fills them in.

Please take the time to report them using the link below takes about 2 minutes:

Thanks

A new smartphone app reports them automatically, so that councils can be alerted promptly and continue to ignore them.

The situation isn't unique to Sydenham, it's the same all over the UK. Makes me wonder what the revenue from my road tax would actually be spent on if I were to pay for it.

ah the smartphone app is even better.

Yes the problem is widespread, but if you report it, it incumbent upon the council to do something about it.

So better to try and grab a large slice of the repair money for sydenham, if we sit back and say nothing the coincil will happily sit back and do nothing, but if we keep reporting it eventually they will have to fix it.

Hole reported on Bell Green on the website and going to report it using the app as well on my way home later. This particular bit of road has been reported a number of times by the look of it .

WARD: Sydenham
ROAD NAME: A212 Sydeham road
LOCATION DESCRIPTION:
Honestly the road is covered in potholes or poorly
repaired holes from the junction with the A2218 up to the

The part just after

Keep reporting as many differnt potholes, (and the other multitude of road defects) as possible. Sooner or later I think they will sort it out.

Whatever happened to the high street regeneration project?

I've noticed lots of new road surfaces in the area - Lawrie Park Road, Dartmouth Road, etc, so things are being done elsewhere.

I lived in sydenham 10 years ago and when I was moving back all the EAs kept hapring on about the regernation that was supposed to be happening.

Can only think it was more of preservation because it looks exactly the same (apart from a few more pot holes).

Only way to get it sorted is to complain, sorry to say it but its the squeaky wheel that gets the oil and all that.
