Stolen Van this morning

Post by ariana.p.newham »

Someone came into our house through the front door (it was closed but not locked) without us noticing this morning at about 10:30 am.

They took the keys to our builder's van and stole it. I'm pretty sure they'll be as far away from the area as possible by now, but if you happen to see anything while you're out, maybe not even in Sydenham, please let us know.

It's a white van with this logo on each side and at the front:

bump.
The numberplate of the van stolen was:
A005 ADU

Please, if anyone has any news, please let the police know.

And to anyone out there, be careful. We have a small child at home, it could have been more than just a van.

Sorry to hear about the van Lee - what a blow :(

Also, terrifying to know that people are ruthless enough to just wander into your home when you are there.

Reminds me of one of the times we were burgled when I lived in Herne Hill for a few years in the 80s - on this particular occasion myself and my flatmates were on night duty and therefore spark out during the day. We woke to find out that our bedrooms had been rifled through whilst we were sleeping - very distressing :(

Somehow we found the van!

A friend of the builder recognised the logo (which we did). So if you see it around it's ok!

Yee-hah! Good news. So we shouldn't mug the driver if we see it around?

Er, no, he's a good guy (and a good builder if anyone needs one).
