I'm surprised about epson perfection... I had to take that back once because my scans were coming out too dark (older model number).

Canon F915900 LIDE Flatbed Scanner

Funny question, wish I'd picked up the A3 scanner that was on offer at the time.

I'm looking to print out this topic and take the pages down to the digital shops for a little bit of comparing... I just need help from you guys on a good scanner/camera. Judging by your samples, all three of you own decent hardware.

I've just got a crappy point and click, what I paid for it four years ago would buy a decent camera now. I borrow better cameras if the occasion calls for it.

Epson Perfection 4990 scanner

Canon Powershot G2 (like Terry's, it cost a small fortune some years ago). I also use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX33 which is small, light and very easy to use. It is not what I would have chosen, and the reason I have it is a long, complicated story.

I would dearly like to join you gentlemen with a selection of my stereoscopic slides and photographic memorabilia. Unfortunately I am still having difficulty downloading items. Please help, explaining clearly, how I get from "my pictures" to downloading on to "town museum and gallery" in simple steps. I am sure there are other people who would like to contribute but are having some degree of difficulty. Thanks.

what you do, Martin, is upload your images to a Flickr account or similar.
Once its uploaded, you find the link, then copy the URL accross to this post, select it and click 'Img' for an image on the the post or 'URL' to add the link instead.
I hope that helps
