WILDTHINGS WEEKENDS

Post by Mayow Park »

Grow Mayow will be holding a series of WILDTHINGS WEEKENDS this summer as part of the redevelopment (14/15 June, 12/13 July & 09/10 August, 10am – 4pm). These weekends will include food growing and nature and art workshops for kids, getting children and adults alike outside to explore, learn, grow food and play in their local environment. Details available online shortly. Participating during WILDTHINGS will include our artist in residence Zoe Burt, whose textile flax is growing in the exhibition bed this year (Grow A London Garment), author Eva Katzler who will read her latest work “Florentine and Pig and the Spooky Forest Adventure” (tbc), Froglife (a national wildlife charity committed to the conservation of amphibians and reptiles) who will be pond dipping and Wastebusters (an environmental awareness campaign empowering children to reduce waste and conserve resources) who will be running our “Don’t rubbish nature” arts and craft activity.

Hi.
Do we just turn up for any of the activities or do some need to be pre-booked?
Thanks.

I took my 5 and 2-year-old to this today and it was lovely. We'd definitely recommend it if you're at a loose end tomorrow.

We loved Cat and her songs, but then my 5-year-old decided she might want to go home when she saw a bee. That appreciation of nature isn't going to be built in a day! Great place, very friendly, with lots of things to explore.
