Girls' cricket - (various days) at SMCC - players needed!

Post by SMCC Colts »

Apologies for starting a second thread, but we particularly need GIRL cricketers!

====

Girl cricketers needed - especially girls in school years 5-7 - to join our girls' cricket teams who start outdoor training this Tuesday. First league match in about 2 weeks.

If you know any girls interested in having a go at cricket (we don't mind if they have played before or not), please, please, please share/forward this message and put them in touch with me.

At Streatham & Marlborough Cricket Club, we have doubled our number of girls twice in the last two years, but we need you, our local community, to help us find a few more players this year as we've entered two girls' teams into the league for the first time.

We have 30+ girls signed up to play this summer, including about 20 girls signed up to play in our two league teams, but we need more girls to cover for weeks when not everyone can play.

We are a non-profit, volunteer run community sports club based between Forest Hill and East Dulwich.

We're one of the biggest cricket clubs in the area, with 6 men's Sat teams (plus Sun and Wed teams), 2 women's teams and 8 boys/mixed teams and 2 girls' teams.

New boys, women and men cricketers also welcome to join.

Hi folks,

Our boys squads are now mostly full for the summer term, but we are still looking for for girls of all ages to join, particularly:

Years 3-5 - soft ball girls' team entered into the 'Under 9s' league (training 7-8:30pm every Friday evening and playing every Saturday morning against teams of mainly boys in year 4)

Years 5-7 - hard ball girls' team entered into the 'Under 11' league (training 5:30-7pm every Tuesday evening and playing every Sunday morning against teams of mainly boys in year 6)

Years 8+ to join our women's team.
