I'd just like to say what a little gem we have in Kirkdale Bookshop. There's always such a good variety of books to choose from. The staff do a great job in finding the good stuff. I've recently bought Clive James' Sentenced to Life, Greg Watts' The Long Road Out of Town, and Oliver Sacks' On the Move, each of them very different but all terrific reads. The bookshop also has a great selection of children's books and, downstairs, a good stock of secondhand books.
