Calling all Bowie fans and lovers of theatre!

Post by SydArts »

Running from 27 June - 1 July Upstairs at the Sydenham Centre is Heroes. A coming of age story set in the summer of 1972 to the soundtrack of David Bowie’s, The Rise & Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars

Presented by Exploding Whale in association with Sydenham Arts. A new play written by Bebe Barry and Tony Barry, Directed by Max Harrison. Following their premiere in Edinburgh Festival 2017 and coming to us directly from Brighton Fringe. The humdrum lives of Joe and Billie are changed forever after witnessing Bowie performing ‘Starman’ for the first time on Top of the Pops. Determined to attend Bowie’s upcoming London gig, the friends leave home on what becomes a journey of self-discovery where the lines between hero worship and friendship become blurred. Exploding Whale are an exciting new theatre company based in central London working to create and perform new, vibrant work. Impressive storytelling this is a festival must see!

Doors 7.30pm, Performance 8pm Bookings http://sydenhamarts.co.uk/whats-on/

I'm so bummed out I didn't have a chance to see this. A couple of friends of mine did and they were blown away by it. And they weren't even Bowie fans... lol
