Somerfield bargain?

Post by activist »

Noticed this morning that Somerfield are again selling 4 bottles of Ritmo for a tenner - £2.50 each.

Not a great wine - but not rubbish either. If you need something cheap to go with a pizza and don't want to throw up - try it!

I'm just a customer and I've only tried the red. Anybody had a go at the white?

i did mention on another thread, that the six bottles of badger ale for £5, really is unbeatable, and if you have a taste for a sweeter beer, try the more expensive badger champion ale, which has a taste of elderflower - it really is award winningly good.

Second in my Plonkers guide to Somerfield:

Riverview Merlot - £2-29.

"A medium bodied red wine bursting with juicy red fruit flavours"

Yes it is red as the stains on the carpet will remind you. It is Hungarian in the tradition of 'Bulls Blood' (is it still marketed?). I think the British taste has moved on. This is really cheap in all senses. Avoid.

Spend the extra 21p and get the Ritmo reviewed above. I just bought another four leaving three on the shelf. Lets hope Somerfield re-stock.
