Collectors of 'Sydenhamalia'

Came across this item for sale on ebay.

Have half a mind to put in a bid... but then I've only half a mind. Still, might look good in the garden.

Isn't that actually outside Lower Sydenham station?!!

I used to have an old tube sign for...Uxbridge! It was huge (the old enamel ones with the blue bit in the middle and the roundel). Unlike the horrible signs for most train stations these days the tube had high standards of design. The tube map was copied all over the world and has become an icon in it's own right.

Hopefully some of the new signage for the high street will be as well designed and unique to Sydenham rather than our generic Lewisham plastic nonsense.

Absolutely Lee, that's why it's important to get involved in the Sydenham Assembley as Sydenham can gain a certain degree of independent choice within the LB of Lewisham.

If we all say "We all want purple street signs" then Lewisham will have to listen to us!
