I see Bats!

Post by Labanised »

Hi,
Has anyone noticed an increase in the amount of Bats recently?
I usually associate them with the countryside (like Foxes used to be, I guess) and have noticed more and more around in the evenings.
The way they change direction like a house-fly is kind of cool but, I did think I was seeing a baby sparrow on acid at first.

I have seen them in Crystal Palace Park; swooping over the lake.

I see them at the top of Kirkdale (The Woodman end) whizzing and swooping about; much to the annoyance of my local (...and very vocal) blackbird it seems.

They are so tiny and so quick that I couldn't hazard a guess to which type of bat it is.

I might think about giving it a name though...

Any suggestions for bat names?

I'm thinking of 'Del' as, I already have a Robin that comes to visit sometimes.
You can probably guess that I call him 'Rodney' ....or 'Dave' when i think I'm being incredibly witty.
