How does it compare with the Supreme Fish Bar (near the Dolphin)? I like Supreme's fish, but their chips are always a little undercooked.

Dunno, but I intend to find out this weekend!

I'm not a huge fan of the place in Kirkdale, so am looking forward to trying an alternative.

Wow: another shop in Sydenham selling something I actually buy on a semi-regular basis. Who'd a thunk it?!

We tried Harbour 321 tonight. The chips were excellent! The fish was very tasty, and the batter was good, although maybe a little greasy for me. It was quick because they had some fish ready - Supreme Fish Bar always cook your fish to order, so it takes a little while.

The new place is very nice inside with plenty of seating, and the staff were lovely and friendly - and gave me some free mini-cod fillets on the house, which was a nice gesture. Good luck to them.

I like the occasional fish and chips but have never had any from anywhere in Sydenham in all the years I've been here. This new place looks good and I'm going to try it out.

The staff are very friendly and it looks nice both inside and out. However the fish and chips were too greasy and therefore rather soggy. I do hope it's just a teething problem as you could tell the food was fresh.

Yep, that was my impression too. I'll give them another bash in a few weeks - otherwise it's back to Kirkdale or Penge.

*sigh*

I popped in for a takeaway cod and chips for a late lunch around 2.30pm. Cooked fresh in about 5-7 mins and were very good. Could choose to eat in to avoid the soggifying hot steam once wrapped up.

They do a small portion for under 12 year olds at £3.50; also a reduction to £5 for seniors which seems to be a normal-sized, i.e. plentiful, portion.

Definitely worth trying.

It is a welcome addition for those of us who turn right out of Station Approach

Tried it for the first time on Friday on way home from Station. Great fish...much fresher than Penge East and chips were perfect.
Also staff were very friendly....you know...really pleased to see a new customer.
Will definitely revisit as it is now my chippie of choice in Sydenham.

Made a second visit there today. This time was very impressed and by far the nicest chips i've had in a long time.

Bought some cod & chips for lunch yesterday. Again as usual a very high standard.

Does anyone else think that the only thing that's lacking is mushy peas? (Pea guacamole if you like.) Served for a reason being added vits and fibre as well as taste Oop Norff. Any takers for Darn Sarff?

Thank you, I tried to find a website for them hoping to find out the days and times but couldn't find one,it would be to their advantage to make sure they are on the web.

Just back and it was closed and no activity at all like clearing up after service (c. 3.10pm) so I guess not. No opening times displayed but I know they have a phone no. cos I found it on the web. As they tend to be open after typical lunch time hours, I thought it'd be handy to ring them in advance at non-meal hours to ask to put a fish in to fry as it takes about 6 mins (just long enough for me to get there ;)

We had cod and chips from here last night.

By far the best I've had in London.

Chips were great and the best thing was there was no silvery fish skin to avoid like everywhere else serves around here.

Really pleased as I was moaning reverently that there are no decent chippy's.

I went back today, after a few weeks away.

The "chip problem" has now been sorted - they're now nice and crispy.

So, all good!
