Local Heroes?

Post by The Clown »

I didn't know that Jason Statham was from Sydenham until I saw this:

More playing a hero on screen than a true hero but still...

wonder what others there are / have been - any rising stars?

The great WG Grace is my favourite hero. Infamously, Rolf Harris was also a former resident of Sydenham.

No one seems to have mentioned Ernest Shackleton. Lived adjacent to St Bart's.

I mentioned René Lalique a while back, being a famous French glass designer who just happened to make a car hood ornament of a greyhound and who some say studied in Sydenham. It's not absolutely verified(*), but as our Greyhound is a rising star, then one or the other has a place here ;)
